The officer driving the cruiser that ran over the suspect felt threatened.

The arrest report says the suspect's severe injuries were caused by resisting arrest.

WASHINGTON — Hillary Rodham Clinton was directly asked by congressional investigators in a December 2012 letter whether she had used a private email account while serving as secretary of state, according to letters obtained by The New York Times.
But Mrs. Clinton did not reply to the letter. And when the State Department answered in March 2013, nearly two months after she left office, it ignored the question and provided no response.
Clintonian will (if not already) displace Machiavellian in the lexicon.

That works better than "oh God I went for the brake and got the accelerator instead."

You may want to pace yourself. 9 1/2 years is a long haul.

Was that an isolated observation or an attempt to present evidence that we are living in an Orwellian state?

Amazing how many people that run from the police get shot / ran over? I wonder what would happen if they didn't resist??
I think I will ask the Owl from the tootise pop commercials. He seems wise.

Now that you mention it, that's exactly what I mean about America being/becoming an Orwellian country. That hypothetical arrest report stating that the suspect's injuries were caused by resisting arrest, when exposed by the video as a total lie, isn't Orwellian.
What would make it Orwellian is those cases where the governmental lie, after being proven beyond any doubt as a total lie, yet it is meekly accepted by the majority of the population as either true anyway, or ignored as unimportant. Newspeak is the new normal.

Agreed. Because running from the cops should carry an automatic death penalty. Fuck people who think a cop should have to run and non-lethally detain a citizen suspected of a crime is stupid. A cop could pull a hammy or roll an ankle or something.
I say shoot anyone who acts like they might run.

That's especially true if their crime appears to be selling loosie cigarettes in NYC or a minor traffic violation in North Charleston SC. The public needs to be protected against people like that.

Don't run. Don't reach for your wallet. Don't ignore the shouted commands ("move and you're dead" - "HANDS UP!"). Don't try to keep your feet if the law is climbing all over you. Don't play outside with a toy gun, kids.
Do have a nice day.

No busted tail lights, no filming, no talking back....and try not to be black in public. It makes things worse.
