Interesting....especially considering George RR Martin wrote Sunday's episode. So, that's essentially saying he decided he wanted to do some things differently (at the show runners' agreement, obviously), since he has a second crack at it.

What the hell happened to Bridget Fonda? Was it kids, coke or crazy? She fell off the planet right around the time the millenium changed.

What prompted that question?

I was flipping through my channel guide last night and quickly saw a movie description about "the wife of an artist (Bridget Fonda)..." while flying past. It made me stop and scroll back because I wanted to see when the movie was made, because she's been MIA - from my consciousness - in over a decade. It was made in 1994. So, I thought about it and the last movie I remember her in was Tarantino's "Jackie Brown."

I never hit the channel to watch any of the movie, but it did make me question where she's been. She was pretty active, cinematically, in the 90s...then poof, it seems.

"Her breakthrough role, however, was as a journalist in The Godfather, Part III. After gaining additional work experience in a few theater productions she was cast in the lead in Barbet Schroeder's Single White Female, followed by a role in Cameron Crowe's ensemble comedy Singles, both in 1992. A review in the New Yorker proclaimed her "provocative, taunting assertiveness", and Rolling Stone said Fonda was "a comic delight". In 1997, Fonda was on the same plane flight as Quentin Tarantino when he offered her the part of a beach babe in Jackie Brown. Fonda was also offered the lead role in the television series Ally McBeal (later accepted by Calista Flockhart), but turned it down to focus on her film career.[3]

Personal life

Fonda has not appeared in films since 2002. On November 29, 2003, she married the film composer and former Oingo Boingo frontman Danny Elfman.[4] She has a son named Oliver.[5]"

No wonder she's laying low. Here's a picture of Danny Elfman

I remember the movie she made where she was this out of control junkie and Gabriel Byrne faked her death and turned her into a hitman. It had Harvey Keitel as the "cleaner".

For the times it was worth watching.

Speaking of Jackie Brown, I bought Roger Corman's "Women in Cages" Trilogy last week. A whole set of movies dedicated to try and show as much of Pam Greer's titties as possible without nipple.

That was a remake of La Femme Nikita. I don't recall ever watching the original....

Ah, Danny Elfman. He's the king of strings in movie scores. I'm pretty sure he did all of the MIB music.

Funny thing, I knew him from his film work. I had no idea he was the frontman for Oingo Boingo.

Note: I can tell you what this song means, but I wouldn't go searching for info about its use in the series unless you want spoilers. This is also the song that Bronn and co sing in the pub.

I actually wrote the name of that group and song down the other day after hearing it on XM, kinda reminded me of Leonard Cohen. Good song...

didn't Danny Elfman write the Simpsons theme song?

GoT needs a few more episodes this season. that's my only complaint. they started too many plots and didn't give themselves enough air time to satisfactorily semi-wrap them up.

game of thrones needs about 2 more episodes with allof the extra characters & story lines, the Lannister/Kings Landing storyline finished 10 minutes into the episode

nothing to do with the story, but I have a couple beefs with the finale, call me picky, but whatev :
1) the white walker stares directly at Sam Tarly then keeps it moving? Now I'm supposed to be scared of the zombie horde?

The wildlings are supposed to be undisciplined & disorganized... but they have the sense to rock arctic camouflage while the crows wear black, which makes it even worse that they completely miss him.

2) A powerful mage whose strong suit is tactical teleportation & never staying in the same place at once gets a warning shot of flame then stays in the line of fire?

Just let the Dragons flamethrow him in one initial barrage
So, I'm watching it now and just going to type my questions as they come...
1. I thought Stannis was captured during Blackwater. What is he doing talking to Red Witch...

2. Random Aside: Theon is Lily Allen's brother.

3. No way Tyrion will be held in his station for too much longer. He's the only man the people would respect out of the Lannisters.

why would Tywin not honor his son's work saving the city?
I don't get it.
I don't know if the White Walker kept it moving. The camera panned backwards, and the zombies were walking forward, but you don't see what happened to Sam after he put his head down and whimpered.

I chalk up the disorganized Wildlings' new lease on warfare to the new King. He was an old ranger or soldier, I thought, who "defected" beyond the Wall.

Good call on Warlock dude. I don't have a good answer.

Stannis' own men dragged him away from the battle to retreat, he wasn't captured
