Coming into the the post-game press conference, Roy evidently bumped his knee on the table leg. Brice Johnson saw it and Roy said something to him and Johnson cracked up. Roy's opening statement at the presser:
"No complaining because we played very, very well, but the NCAA needs to buy a dadgum new table, the dadgum leg just broke my bad knee. But other than that it's a fantastic night. Brice even laughs at me. It hurt!"

looks like Coach K got caught lying after the Oregon game
what he said wasn't that big of a deal. I think he could have easily defended it without lying about it.

Yeah, it's a minor story...but tells you a lot about K.

I saw the replay, the shot clock was about to expire, he just casually jacked up a shot and it went in. What was he supposed to do, just give the ball to a Duke player? DIdn't seem like showboating or even unsportsmanlike in the least...

DS's brother-in-law needs to make an appearance and lick his wounds. It would be the manly thing to do.

most players probably would have dribbled out the clock
I think he didn't really believe it would go in. Since he was a starter I can see the "wtf" moment from Duke and he did react after the shot - so I don't even blame Coach K for what he said
but why lie about it?

The clock wouldn't have run out and they would have turned the ball over. Coach said shoot, he shot. Fuck K. Little Bitch.

e's right, it's the lie that is the issue. The kI'd gestured to the Duke bench, K castigated him for it, the kid took it to heart and that should've been that. Even the first lie by K is mildly understandable, if he didn't want to make a big deal out of it. The doubling down on it after it was the confusing part. Why?

People just don't know how to act when caught in a lie. The whole thing is silly. if he didn't want to talk about it, he coulda gone with, "Honestly, it was the heat of the moment, adrenalin and disappointment flowing in equal portions. Not sure what I said."

Oh yeah, K was clearly busted. Heat of the moment. Tough loss. Kid was classy.

"The kI'd gestured to the Duke bench, K castigated him for it, the kid took it to heart and that should've been that."
I didn't see that. If he did that after making a meaningless 3 after the game was long decided, then I think that K was totally justified in admonishing him a little bit. It's not like he rushed the court and got in his grill about it, but just making a passing comment to a player along the lines of "hey man, you're better than that, but hey, great game otherwise" I don't think that's out of bounds whatsoever.
But like everybody else has said, why lie about it? I don't even think he needed to say "it was a personal moment, I don't recall exactly what I said", I think he should've said "I don't think you need to showboat in that situation and in particular I think this kid is better than that, so I told him so, no big deal." The fact that the kid evidently agreed with him pretty much seals the case...

The kid wasn't going to argue with Coach K.

If he taunted the opposing bench after hitting a 3 in that situation, he deserved a mild scolding. I'm glad he acknowledged his error...

Haywood tells Coach K to stop lil Ted Cruz from tripping opponents and leave criticising opposing players alone.
