Yeah, right....Just like it wasn't his 'Ego' back when he stated that it was the greatest moment in UK basketball history when those 5 players went in the first round. Dan Issel had to set the boy straight letting him know that it was definitely NOT the greatest moment in UK history....along with some other former players.
..and in Calipari's case, Ego is always spelled with a capital E.

he wasn't saying that for your benefit though, he was saying it to reach out to the Karl Anthony Towns and Jamal Murrays.
Cal doesn't give two shits about Dan Issel setting him straight. He says that stuff because it lands him the recruits. This is what UK fans like you and the Roy Williams of the world can't figure out
A kid isn't coming to Carolina to do what he can for Carolina, but he'll come to Kentucky because Cal is asking them (or telling them ) what Kentucky can do for you.
Do you really think Cal believes that it was the greatest moment in UK history? You really think his ego was driving that? Or was he guaranteeing 7 more years of top 3 recruiting classes coming in? Cal's attitude is if you can't figure out what I'm doing here, I'm not going to bother to explain it.
Look at what Bilas said about Simmons - He said on national television going to LSU was a mistake for Simmons, he should have went to UK. Bilas said that to probably 5 million people - a good percentage of those people connected to college basketball.
That isn't because Kentucky won a bunch of games back in 1948
When it comes to Cal, attitudes like yours are going to burn the house down to get rid of a spider.

"That isn't because Kentucky won a bunch of games back in 1948"
Which is exactly why I say UK isn't the greatest program in college hoops history. But Cal has done alot to change that...

and he'll keep doing it as long as fans like Crotch don't expect him to sing the UK fight song every 20 minutes.

as long as we can agree UNC can't
Maybe a few years ago but not now.

I actually want IU to win it all this year.
For a couple of reasons - 1. I don't think Crean is all that - I think he's their version of Tubby and I want them to keep Crean for another decade. I'm convinced he's going to shit his pants on live television at some point soon. and 2. well..fuck UNC.
of course I'd love for Xavier to win it all - I don't know shit about them, hell , they may already be out for all I know - I didn't even watch a game today but they are a local team.

If Carolina somehow pulls it off this year, it'll be hard to argue with Roy's record over the past decade...
