Birmingham Bowl or the Weedeater Bowl? Hmmmm.... Tough decision......

I haven't been to Lesion Field since '82. From what I remember, parking was an adventure. You just knew your car would be up on cinder blocks when you returned from the game.

In fact, I may take my whole family to the Birmingham Bowl this year to watch Auburn play. It would probably look a lot like this:

When B'ham legalized dog racing, Lewis Grizzard quipped that the city needed some decent Italian restaurants.

If, by this time next year, the Gus Bus continues to be stuck in a ditch, and if 49% of the UGA fanbase still wants to fire Richt, I would favor hiring the good Christian man from Athens. After a long pattern of hiring a new coach, then going undefeated for one year, then melting down for the next three, then repeating the process, having a coach who goes ten years with consistent 10-3 records sounds pretty good.

Auburn listed as one of the four classiest fan bases in college football.

I have always heard Nebraska had respectful fans, and Notre Dame doesn't surprise me, but Auburn?

Notre Dame fans are awful. The only Nebraska fans I know are awful ("The Wizard").

Auburn? Bwahahaha....and from the worldwide leader "chatsports.com"?

SHOCKED!

But this will go nicely with their People's Champion trophy...

Actually, hearing that Notre Dame fans are awful doesn't surprise me either. But I have heard (Wiz notwithstanding) that Nebraska fans are particularly polite and respectful to opposing fans that come to their games...

I had a great time when we took a roadtrip to AU in the 80s. We met some friendly folks who let us crash on their floor and drink their beer.

I went to the Cotton Bowl when Auburn played Nebraska. The Husker fans were very polite but nerdy. In our big downtown Dallas hotel, they all went to bed at 10 on New Year's Eve. Then they got up and left for the stadium at 8 for a noon game. But they were very cool fans and a pleasure to meet.

No tree poisoning or tea bagging at the local Krystal's after the game.

I know some good Auburn fans. They are rare, though. I was best man at one's wedding not long ago. Most of the AU fans, though, are like prof, sadly enough.

Can't remember which year, I know it was a year where Auburn players were shooting and killing each other at apartment complexes (which has happened more than once in the last 5-6 years), but not the time back under Tubby where an AU player was shot by his wife...not that long ago, when I saw Auburn fans make fun of a 6-year-old girl with Down Syndrome who was dressed in a Bama cheerleader uniform. She cried, and several around her, including myself, came to her defense.

Sadly, that happens more than it should. Auburn fans, as a whole, are the most jealous and bitter fans you'll ever meet. Fans with a curious sense of entitlement. A world view where they see themselves as much better than their results on the field should provide for them. Again, see prof.

Also, good morning. Iron Bowl week.

Yes, it's Iron Bowl week.

That being the case, AA's typically long, confused and rambling post reminds me of the movie Pulp Fiction, where Samuel L. Jackson quotes Ezekiel just before he waxes somebody.

Speaking of Iron Bowl week and Pulp fiction, Bama's going to do to us what Zed did to Marcellus in that movie.

I saw an Alabama fan trip an elderly Auburn fan, causing him to fall.

It was on ESPN and everything. Shocking.

" I was best man at one's wedding not long ago."

Aren't you getting a little long in the tooth to be best manning?

"Speaking of Iron Bowl week and Pulp fiction, Bama's going to do to us what Zed did to Marcellus in that movie."

I dare say what Marcellus did to Zed was far worse than what he got from Zed. He got medieval....
