Another note about Ben Simmons

If I was advising him, I'd seriously tell him to come back to LSU.

get his shit straight - show the world that you can hit the books, lead a team and know what it is to be a good teammate. Convince Blakeney to return (if he isn't already) and take your team into a deep run on the NCAA tourney

Right now he's 0' fer on those issues - and while I don't think he'll be a bust in the NBA, I don't think he's ready to meet his potential.

Of course given that he chose LSU, none of that matters to him - he's just gonna jump and get paid - and its clear he's going #1. But I think the learning curve is 3 years in the NBA for him right now.

He is incredibly immature and if he winds up on a team like the Sixers which is all youth and potential, I think his progress arc will flatten.

It is for most freshmen coming out for the money. They need to move the rule back to at least 2 years after their HS class graduates. Main reason why the NBA blows chunks.

interesting note - Jamal Murray is only 23 3 pointers shy of passing Steph Curry's college single season record. Its late in the season, and its probably not fair to let them add anything once the NCAA tourney starts but at any rate, if UK were to get to the finals of the SEC tournament and have any kind of run in the NCAA its possible he could break it.

Marcus Paige, the #1 PG in his class and McDAA, sees his Senior night at UNC

meanwhile, Archie Goodwin and Nerlens Noel have been in the league for 3 years, Goodwin making $1.6m per season on a 5 year deal with Phoenix and Noel making $3.4m per season on a 4 year deal with Philadelphia

Just FYI as to why recruiting sucks for UNC.

Paige wasn't the #1 PG in his class. He was a four star, iirc.

ETA: He was a four star and the fourth ranked point guard.
