Looks like the Ossoff election - a referendum on Trump as president didn't get the bang for the buck they were hoping for - against an incompetent republican no less.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm happy to let Democrats keep putting up elitist to run.

To me, it's amazing that a 30 year old Democrat, with virtually no record of accomplishment, who didn't bother to live in the congressional district he wanted represent, and was almost exclusively backed by California socialists, could come within 4 points of winning a historically red district.

maybe one day they will run a candidate that will talk about jobs and the economy instead of bathroom rights and childhood obesity

As if talking about jobs has done any good. Same with great trade deals, health care, and that big wall. MAGA. All talk.

At least the pinheads actually got something done wrt bathroom rights.

Apparently the Yellowstone super volcano is going to do what Trump has failed to do so far

Correct. If the Dem's start addressing what those average flyover country people care about (jobs and an economy that works for everybody and not just for the rich), they can bounce back as a party.

But if the Dem's keep trying to browbeat those average flyover country people into caring about what their bi-coastal betters care about (global warming, identity/victimization/reparations politics, Russian conspiracy theories, disarming the populace, free government health care that nobody can afford, emptying Gitmo, open borders, imprisoning Christian florists and photographers, suing Catholic nuns, putting a tranny in every bathroom, etc) then they'll continue to struggle as a national party.

The repub establishment is even less inspiring to flyover country people than the Democrats. They make no pretense of caring about anybody but wealthy people, and never have.

But flyover country people voted for Trump because he talked about the things that they care about. And since being elected, Trump has done - or tried to do - everything he told the deplorables he would do:

Got us out of TPP; approved the Keystone pipeline; intervened to keep businesses from moving US jobs overseas; started rolling back federal regulations that destroy jobs; pruned back wasteful bureaucracies like the EPA; called out AGW for the fraud that it is; started the process of building the wall; started enforcing federal immigration law and punishing illegal immigrants who commit violent crimes: laid the groundwork for punishing sanctuary cities; called out the Iranian nuclear deal as the disastrous act of appeasement that is was; called Islamic terrorism Islamic terrorism; tried to prevent just anybody from terrorist-infested countries from walking right into the US without vetting; attempted to repeal and replace the utterly failed Obamacare; stopped Obama's war on Christian wedding photographers and florists, stopped Obama's war on Catholic nuns; stopped Obama's war on the second amendment; got the federal government out of the nationwide bathroom business...

That stuff inspires a lot of people in flyover country. That's why Trump is president, and probably will be again in 2020.

Thanks to the ridiculous amount of MSM hyperventilation on that unproven conspiracy theory, whenever someone says the word "Russian," middle America now reacts to it like husbands react to their wives when they say, "Honey, turn off that ballgame you're watching. We've talked and talked about the new shade of beige for the kitchen. Which do you like better: cream or eggshell? We NEED to make a decision!"

"Thanks to the ridiculous amount of MSM hyperventilation on that unproven conspiracy theory"

The only thing I've heard any news outlet report is that the official word is that the Russians tried to hack our voting computers but failed. Of course they're going to say that, otherwise it would throw the whole electoral system into a panic, not to mention make our entire anti-hacking tech establishment look like fools. But you know it happened. There's no way Trump could've won otherwise. I was hoping they were going to fuck up and flip, say, California, and then it would've been so obvious no one would've been able to deny it, but clearly the Ruskies aren't that dumb...

The hacking is proven , like global warming, so it's just a matter of what you want to do with the information

Do you have any actual evidence to support that statement? Personally, I think Trump won the election because of the Trilateral Commission and Bilderberg Group.

This is the moment CNN called the GA 6 election for Handel:

I haven't seen such a disappointed group of "journalists" since the night Trump got elected.
