Replacing a conservative (Scalia) with another conservative (Gorsuch) was good.
Replacing a mushy moderate (Kennedy) with a conservative would be even better.
Replacing a leftist (Ginsberg) with a conservative would usher in a Golden Age.

Nice try with the all or none angle, Prof. There's plenty of racism but clearly we're better than we were 50 years ago, 30 years ago, maybe even 10 years ago. Maybe when people start accepting that things are still far from perfect, we'll move even further along.

Does she work in public health?

I'm happy to comfort the MIF and listen to her grievances...

Yeah. I love when people try to tell me racism is a thing of the past. It's usually the most racist and/or insulated persons who say that shit..

Nuanced thought isn't really Prof's strong suit...

"Does she work in public health?"
Yes. She said that along with heroin, Hep C is also an epidemic (according to the presenter of one of the talks she attended)...
"I'm happy to comfort the MIF and listen to her grievances..."
Not for long you won't, esp. when you become the focus of those grievances...

Mom worked as a RN then an NP in public health for 25 years. She was even president of the state association at one point. They always held their conventions in New Bern at the conference center/hotel on the river, Wilmington or the old Sheraton in Atlantic Beach.

boom. Lower case "boom", but boom.
Outside of My Brother's Keeper and the commutation of the sentences of a shitload of non-violent drug offenders, Obama's biggest help to Black people, directly, via his Presidency was being the first two term President in over 50 years without a significant scandal. He didn't give Black people truckloads of Kools and their own record labels like he promised in the meetings.

Black people are a monolith in which political party they vote for. The Democrats are clearly the menthols of the two.

I remember watching an episode of "Blackish" where their son joined some young Republicans club at school just to meet a girl. His parents (devoted black democrats) were so incensed, they had to meet the parents of the daughter to help make them understand how two intelligent, educated, black adults, could knowingly be Republican. Things kind of broke down from there, hilarity ensued.

Everything IB knows about black folks he learned from watching "Blackish".
What's funny is older black folks are often very socially conservative. The republican party has done a horrible job of courting them. Ditto hispanics. My best friend is black. He is waaaaaaaay more conservative than I am, and while that's just a single anecdotal account, it is not uncommon in my experience. To hear him talk about gay marriage, welfare, gun control, and a hundred other things, you would be convinced that you were speaking with a stalwart leader of the republicans.
