Uh nothing you posted contradicts what I said: Fox News has a problem attracting younger viewers. Just like Republicans have a problem attracting young voters. It's a channel for angry old white men. And also dirty old men leering at the 40-something ladies wearing miniskirts.

Young people don't get their news from Bill Oreilly and fucking Fox News. Great for Fox that they're tops in cable news. That's sort of like winning the big ten. Nice and all but it's heyday is long past. Fox dominates a dying industry. Pop the champagne!!!

I guess it depends on who you define as young, perhaps you mean teens/college kids still living in parents' basement....but every article/chart I find has Fox thrashing everybody in the 25-54 demo....

Ed Schultz hasn’t exactly had great luck in the ratings these past few weeks. And on Wednesday, he only got 57K viewers in the 25-54 demo (with 480K total), a drop from Tuesday’s 76K in the demo and 519K total.

And, as usual, The Five swept the competition with 312K in the demo and 2.073K total. Wolf Blitzer continues to hold steady at a distant second with 162K in the demo and 619K total.

Yes, more homes have network than cable.....What's the trend (in TV) though?

So who exactly is watching cable news at 5pm on a workday? Angry retired white dudes like my dad? Or young successful professionals? Same question goes for who exactly listens to Rush at 1 when they're supposedly working like heck bs keeping the country afloat?

Not sure what agency lumps 25 year olds together with people in their mid fifties and says they're all the same demographic.

Amongst Millenials (18 to 33 years old) Democrats have over a 15 point edge on Republicans.

...And w/the declining audience of Today, I'm sure Matt Lauer will be getting a raise....$20 mil ain't cuttin' it.

I don't see people under 40 suddenly being seduced by the Republicans as they grow older so long as the republicans support the usual angry white male social causes: keep women at home, make sure queers can't marry, random stops of anyone who looks black/Arab/Hispanic, making sure pot carries harsh prison sentences, etc.

The younger demographic is increasingly non-white as well. Tough luck for R's. The base is dying
