The pre-open enrollment details:
You will see increases in deductibles, coinsurance and out-of-pocket maximums in the Health Savings Medical Plan and PPO Medical Plan options. Copayments for primary care physician and specialist office visits under the PPO Medical Plan option will change to coinsurance, which is a percentage of the cost.
Ahh wonderful. Increased costs, worse benefits, higher deductibles. Everything Opramacare promised righ....well okay it was exactly the opposite. Thanks 47%!
The writing is on the wall. Benefits will continue to get worse and worse and cost more and more until it gets dropped all together and everyone gets raped by the exchanges. Unless of course you work for govt.
How's it working out for the rest of ya? Peachy?

What kind of anti-pschotics do they have for posters on blogs who jokingly refer to other posters' moms being raped by the blog host/moderator?

That wasn't a joke. I was asking you to imagine a situation with a loved one to see if you truly feel that it cannot be rape if the victim hires a lawyer.
It's easy to call an unnamed coed a whore because she hires a lawyer. It's more problematic when it hits closer to home.

Now, if you asked me to imagine my dad dying in the WTC attack, fir example, I can. I know he wasn't and it causes me no emotional injury for you to posit such a scenario. Like the old quote attributed to Aristotle: "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it."
As always, your mileage may vary.

Victims of crime don't hire lawyers. They go to the police and the DA (the lawyer) prosecutes. End of story. Why did she hire a lawyer who can't prosecute? She did it to make a criminal matter a civil matter.
AlabamAlum wrote:It's easy to call an unnamed coed a whore because she hires a lawyer. It's more problematic when it hits closer to home.
Its really not that close to home because the lawyer she "hired" was done for the sole purpose of getting money from someone (anyone.) It could be Winston, the school, the Tallahasee's PD, the DA's office, someone has to pay because... well, just because. Family members of mine have hired lawyers to be made financially whole (from some sort of civil infraction) OR to protect themselves from making others financially whole at their expense. This girl hired a lawyer to be made financially whole (from having sex.) She had sex and wants to be paid. That makes her a whore.
A rape victim's goal should not be to get money. That is the sole reason why she has a lawyer. As they said in Goodfellas, Fuck You Pay Me. Your screed is just an attempt to reframe that which is so plainly obvious.

What's wrong with getting money if a crime has been committed against you? If I got robbed or assaulted, I would much rather get a monetary settlement than see the perp go to jail. I get nothing out of that...

IB,
So, you admit that your mother was a whore and not raped after she hired the lawyer?
Failing that, do you have any reputable research that suggests that all victims of crime who hire attorneys are not really victims?
Anything substantive? Anything other than a wild-assed opinion that you pulled outta the air?

There is nothing wrong with getting money (from the criminal) if a crime has been committed against you. You go after them civilly after the state determines what to do criminally. Alas,
there is no crime. If there was, there would have been an arrest or at the very least, a deal cut.
All we have here, is a stupid young man and a whore. The problem this whore faces (the problem Kobe's whore didn't face) is that Winston doesn't actually have any money YET, nor does he have a multimillion dollar contract YET, nor does he have a wife/marriage to protect if the word got out that they had sex. This whore doesn't have as much leverage to bargain with in civil proceedings.

You are still missing it.
There was no crime. Nothing. Winston was never arrested. Winston did not have to cut a deal with government for anything that he did. No rape charges were filed.
If she hired a lawyer, she is suing (someone.) If she is suing, who does she sue and what are her
damages? Anyone can sue anyone for anything. And in order to be paid, you need to have real damage. So where is it?

No, you are still missing it. There are victims whose attackers aren't charged due to a lack of criminal evidence. That lack of evidence doesn't mean that the person wasn't attacked or that the attacker didn't do anything.
For example, OJ was found not guilty in the criminal trial but did lose a civil case which has less stringent evidentiary requirements.
Now answer my questions. Any research showing that all victims who hire attorneys are liars? And in the scenario, was your mom now not raped because she hired an attorney?
