Clashmore was sane. Most southerners grew up learning to hate ND, not its fans. It's a cultural thing. I think anOSU is overtaking them in the bullshit factor. "We have the largest compliance team in CFB! the Vest can do no wrong!

When I was in the Navy, Lindsey Nelson (from Tennessee by the way) used to have a highlights show of ND football on Sundays. I would give this oHIo nut pt's and bet him on the outcome of the game. He never got that the games were played the day before. oHIoans, sheesh.

anyways, Jared Lorenzen gave up his job as General Manager and food taster for the Northern Kentucky River Monsters to become their starting QB. The boy has worked at least 2 full days to get back into game shape (then he said fuck and just hired a coach fatter than him)

He is a huge Notre Dame fan who was run off the CFM boards over at Worldcrossing because everyone flamed Notre Dame day in and day out. He was sane. So is Fifer.

to put things in perspective, I've been posting fairly regularly here since the death of WC and I have 187 posts.

I've been in touch with Clash until recently. He was a moderator of the CF megasite on World Crossing, until he became so disgusted with it all he left, and I don't blame him. The endless moronic Marty vs Wizard 24/7 battle drove him up the wall, till he finally banned Marty off the boards. Clash is a super guy a native of South Bend Indiana and the son of a ND grad. He was very knowledgeable about CFB and an intense ND fan. There were several other ND supporters at the time who left as well. We really just wanted to have a general discussion on ND football but the megasite was the wrong place for it.

I'm registered on ND nation and post there occasionally. I seldom mention ND football on this site. They've only been an average team at best for many years, and I'm getting too old for stupid arguments about it.

You know what I think it is Fifer. I don't think the average college football fan (who is not a fan of The Irish) hates Notre Dame, per se. What they hate the perceived arrogance of the average Notre Dame Fan, as if (in the Notre Dame fan's mind) Notre Dame is just "entitled" to the best Bowl Bids regardless of their on-field performance (even with a 6-4-1 record, like in 1994.)

I think that brings out the "Hate" particularly from people like Wiz. They don't like people who think of themselves as "special."

Clash was not treated any more harshly than we treat Fifer. He was just a puss -- couldn't understand that part of being a ND fan is that people despise his team and most of it's fans. Nothing was ever directed at him.
