I was being ironic. I am on record saying that I love bleu cheese on my wings. The first time I ever had buffalo wings, someone told me that was how you were supposed to eat them. At the time, I thought it sounded weird. But I actually like the taste combination. I'll dip them even if they're not hot. The heat has nothing to do with it.

Order a goddamn salads then you nancy boys. What the fuck is the point of getting wing sauce (mild or hot) to not enjoy the true flavor of it? Like ordering a steak and throwing some catsup, a1, etc... A well prepared steak needs nothing along with a well prepared wing needs no dipping sauce unless it is more of said sauce.

Don't. Cream. The. Wings.

Who tf cares about chicken wings anyway? For all of recorded history people threw wings away..they were shit. It wasn't until the 70s that somebody got high and deep-fried a bunch of wings and washed it down with beer.

It's still the gnarly part of a pos chicken for fucksake. Dip it in sauce, ladle on the bleu cheese, or stick it up yer ass. Who cares? The whole notion of a manly "majestic" wing that cannot be bespoiled by a condiment is fucking nuts.

I cannot imagine caring what another man wants on his wings. Then again, I am a confirmed heterosexual. I couldn't care less If you wanted to drink the oil drained from the crankcase of a 1972 Gremlin.

Why do I like bleu cheese on wings? I can't imagine any (straight) man caring, but if you really need to know, the bleu cheese just adds an extra layer of fat. Like brushing a steak with some butter while on the grill, or adding a slice of cheddar to a burger. You don't like butter brushed on your steak or cheddar on your burger? Um, okay....whatever.

I can honestly say that in over 20 years since I first tried hot wings, it has never once occurred to me that the bleu cheese might be tempering the spiciness. If the wings aren't spicy enough, then I just order hotter ones.

When I go to a restaurant that doesn't specialize in hot wings, I usually order the spiciest wings on the menu -- because they're usually not spicy at all. A specialty wings place will always have wings that are too spicy for me. So I'm cautious until I know just how hot they are. But among my group of friends, I'm usually the one who orders the hottest wings. Some of my friends just do not like spicy foods. I've never thought of it as a macho thing.

My best friend, who probably makes more money than most of the posters here, lives in a huge, beautiful house, has fathered 3 kids -- all boys -- and is a 6'2" Krav Maga martial artist and an avid outdoorsman (who rides his ATV like he's Evil Knievel) and hunter (with a concealed carry permit and a huge collection of firearms, including full-auto shit). No one who has ever met him would say he is a wuss. He just doesn't like spicy food.

I actually find the association of spicy food and manliness to be surprising and very funny.

I used to spar against a krav maga guy. He didn't like spicy wings AND he dipped them in dressing, too. KRAV MAGA = SISSY WINGS w/dressing!

Similar with cigars. Some (less-than-intelligent) guys associate smoking full-bodied cigars with being a man and mild cigars with being a homo or a sissy. I just shake my head when I hear talk like that. What? Are we still in high school: If you don't put a plug of Red Man AND a dip of Copenhagen in your mouth before you chug that entire pint of Evan WIlliams... you ain't got no hair on your balls!

This is what I had thought about chicken wings when they first came out. I thought it was stupid to pay money for a tiny piece of meat. I come from a big family and wings were always on the platter with the rest of the chicken, but never got eaten. Since its birth, I've gone to many a party that have served them, and have come to accept them. I can take them or leave them. The hotter the better. No dipping, please. I still won't pay for them. I'll take chicken tenders if I feel like chicken, thank you. Now, I see you all are showing me the door and I will exit, stage right.

Not at all, Karen. I, for one, find your perspective most interesting. Wings are a bit of work...but they're tasty.

I like spicy food and medium-to-full-bodied cigars. But that has nothing to do with why I'm a fucking bad-ass who women drool over.

I like tenders, too. If anyone dips a fried chicken tender in honey mustard they're a sissy!

Don't cream the tenders!!!!!1

To avoid being a sissy, I drink a 12oz tumbler of extra-hot wing sauce (with no bleu cheese) before every meal.

Once, years ago, I carried my son to IHOP. We had blueberry pancakes. Waitress sat them on the table and my son reached for the maple syrup. I punched in the face and screamed, "DON'T SYRUP THE CAKES!"

As god as my witness, to this day, my son is condiment free.

Guy at work doesn't even eat green peppers or pepperoni or even friggin pepper. Now I rag on him quite a bit.
