I'm in charge of the campout this weekend. 43 boys and 4 adult leaders.

Every year I get 10-12 boys in my patrol that are either 10 or 11 year olds. They are literally snot bubbling crybabies that still believe in the tooth fairy and its my job within a year to get them integrated into the troop.

This weekend is a campout I put together to get the boys up in ranking, so being the anal retentive leader I am, I divided them up into 4 groups and they'll be on a rotating schedule going from one training station to another. They'll be doing stuff like fire building, knife sharpening, first aid for various accidents, how to cook with a dutch oven, hiking with a compass and the old stand by - knot tying.

I'm making 50 sandwiches when I leave work this afternoon for tonights snack, put together 48 goody bags that consist of little debbie cakes, reese's pb cups, a slim jim, gum and powdered drink mix for a water bottle.

The boy is in charge of one of the teams.

Should be great weather for the weekend - a rain cloud or two but generally good fall temps. This is my 3rd year of organizing this campout. 1 more and I'm outta there. The boy should be Eagle by May 2014.

I'm on the Aleutian Time Zone.

(and I meant to post in UCLA, not "LA" Salle. I'm not totally on point this week)

the difference is, these things happened while the acid you dropped on the corner of Haight and Ashbury just made you think you saw this happen
