It doesn't bother me, per se, but I feel obligated to task morons or moronic designations at times.

Yes, Bammer.
A simple derivative moniker with no references to sexuality, excrement, or any other derogatory tone that still manages to get one particular poster's irish up.
The Tenny, tucky, arkie, aubie, etc fans here apparently have slightly thicker hides.

My hide is thick enough.
Apparently, however, you draw umbrage at being called childish and classless when you exhibit those particular "qualities". I shall continue to task you when you lower yourself to the drunken frat boy in black face level. I consider it necessary and prudent to see to and provide for your edification.
You will either cease...or your own skin will thicken after being called a goddamned idiot enough times.

I don't understand the umbrage taken at the term bammer. It was invented to complete the alliterative rhyme in that classy fight song, "Rammer jammer yellow hammer give 'em hell Ala-bammer."

EFZ Prof. Methinks Nancy just needs something to get her panties in a knot. When the team is steamrolling everyone else there's isn't much else to complain about.

I do not like it. I also do not like Vals, Gayturds, Barners, Buttsniffers, Bunghole Tiggers, Mildcats, etc, etc... If you use the term "Bammers" I will call you on it. Stupidity goes unchallenged too often these days, so I take it upon myself to correct those who lower themselves to such depths...that is until I view them as such an irredeemable fool (IB, for example) that I just avoid them completely.
If that's the company you wish to keep, I can only attempt to pull you back for so long. After a while, even the most dedicated lifeguard has to let a man intent on drowning himself do just that.

Rammer jammer yellow hammer give 'em hell Ala-bammer.
I also do not like Vals, Gayturds, Barners, Buttsniffers, Bunghole Tiggers, Mildcats, etc, etc...
The difference being the above terms carry an obvious derogatory connotation to demean the team (though Vals is borderline).
There is nothing in the term 'Bammer' that reads as derogatory or demeaning to the state, university, or its players. It carries no more offense than the term 'Bama', but we each get to choose what what offends us or what we do not like so carp on carp on.

So, you fancy yourself the grand arbiter of what is derogatory or demeaning in the first part of your statement and then use the throw-away line of "but we get to choose offends us" in the latter half?
Bammer is an insult. It always has been. A mispronunciation used by illterates and the mentally handicapped - and insult has its place: however, when used to excess it becomes tedious and obnoxious.
Know this: use it and I will task you. Unmercifully, rudely, and to great excess. You shall become my sport. My sporticus, if you will. I will hound you. I'll chase you 'round the Moons of Nibia and 'round the Antares Maelstrom and 'round Perdition's flames before I give you up!
