Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

Speaking of calves, I suspect if I go back far enough, I'll find Moses as an ancestor...

Some clown at IC posted a rant about how the one and done model isn't so great, pointing out UK's "failures" (LOL) under Cal, i.e., only winning one NC. He ended his rant with: "As the Romans whispered into the conquering hero's ear: all fame is fleeting. Et tu, Kentuckus?" Almost Crowian (and I did like "Kentuckus")...

I'm fine with fans saying our model sucks, but don't turn around and talk about how we're ruining college basketball or how you support a freshmen ineligibility rule.

personally, considering that Cal has been to final fours 4 out of his 6 years here, and the elite 8 team he had put 2 players in the NBA All star game, I'm not sure how any fan can say the model isn't so great. But if the true measuring stick is a national champion, I'm good with us doing what we do and everyone else doing what they do (besides Duke) and everything remaining status quo.

Crow, btw, is on his 3rd iteration of himself at KSR since leaving here. He now posts as Lord Crow and his latest rant was against the cops in the Arkansas parking lot saying America is one big Fallujah, Iraq.

The real story is the work he's putting during practice on his shot.

UK fans have nothing to be ashamed of except the fact they cry to much. I love what Cal is doing and I'd much rather see UK win than that fuck stick program in Columbus. Assholes

UK isn't ruining college basketball but the NBA sure is. Either create a system that keeps kids in school for at least 2 years or let them come at any age. One-and-done is the worst, IMO. Although I guess it keeps colleges from losing recruits.

You know if you can get a team of All-Americans every year and contend for a national title, why not? As someone who has followed college hoops for most of his life, I think this system is far from ideal and has caused me to lose interest in the sport, but it's hardly the fault of the colleges that can utilize it to their advantage.

interesting thing happened in recruiting today

A kid named Dazon Ingram made his announcement during a live stream. I don't know much about the kid but he sounds like a shooter with good handling skills.

At any rate, he was down to UK and Bama and had the hats on the table - the whole 9 yards and he chose Alabama.

The thing is - no one is sure he even had an offer from Kentucky.

But you have to admit - this is brilliant marketing because Bama fans (that pay attention to basketball at this time of year - all 6 of 'em ) are super pumped this kid spurned Kentucky to play for them. Their new coach stole a recruit from Cal!

Yeah. Cal called him. No in-home visit (as far as I know) and the kid never tweeted that he got a UK offer. I don't know how many spots you have left, but if not many, he may have only been invited to walk-on.

Personally, he doesn't fit the UK mold. He's a decent 3-star kid. If this were football, you'd get him. Basketball? Not so much.

“@CecilHurt: Ingram said UK asked him to wait on an offer if he was released from financial aid papers he had signed with UA earlier.”

well there ya go

not knocking the kid at all - I think he's a good get for Bama.

Looks like Malik Newman is going to end up at Mississippi St and Zimmerman just signed with UNLV.

Newman wants to be the sole PG where he plays.

It looks like the platoon system didn't sit too well with the 2015 recruits

Yeah. It's a good get for Bama. Would've been a practice squad guy at UK.
