Santa Ana Police Officer Shoot Kill Unarmed Homeless man for calling her a 'bitch'

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — An eyewitness recorded cellphone video of a Santa Ana police officer shoot and kill an unarmed 22-year-old homeless man at a shopping center earlier this week.

The witness, who wished to remain unidentified, was standing in the parking lot of the Harbor Place Shopping Center on South Harbor Boulevard around 3 p.m. Tuesday when he said he filmed a confrontation in front of Jugo’s La Tropicana between an officer, later identified as a 13-year veteran, and victim Hans Kevin Arellano.

“She exited her patrol car, gun drawn, and asked the gentlemen to get on the ground. The gentlemen didn’t get on the ground, he was still inside the restaurant. She asked again. The man then exited the restaurant, and as he was exiting the restaurant, he said, ‘What are you gonna do, b—-?’ About a second later, she shot him in the chest,” he said."

DSL, sorry about Braxton Miller. I hope that doesn't crush your first season with Rutgers and Maryland.
Urban has about 5 QBs as good as/better than Braxton. Sadly, only one is academically eligible.

KKK raising money for Ferguson police officer

A Missouri chapter of the Ku Klux Klan is planning a fundraiser this weekend for the Ferguson police officer who shot and killed Michael Brown, an unarmed black teen.

"All money will go to the cop who did his job against the Negro criminal," according to New Empire Knights of the KKK.

Darren Wilson, the officer involved in the Aug. 9 shooting, has been a police officer for six years, four with Ferguson Police Department, and has never had any disciplinary action taken against him. There's no indication Wilson supports the KKK's efforts.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the New Empire Knights is based in South Carolina and led by Chuck Murray.

In an e-mail, Murray confirmed his chapter was raising money but did not respond to further questions.

Unrelated to the KKK efforts, supporters of Wilson have set up Facebook pages. One page called "Support Darren Wilson" has 30,000 likes.

There is also a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for his legal fees. As of Tuesday morning, the campaign had raised more than $19,000.

don't know. And neither do you. Has the Chief of Police of Ferguson said ANYTHING about the medical condition of the officer involved in the shooting? Is he even ALLOWED TO mention anything about his medical history (by law?) Probably not.
yes, he is. In fact, if he were injured, most of the time, the information is released, at least the fact that he is being treated.

Don't trust everything you read. Look at the sources. My son told me earlier today that the video of the alleged robbery showed Brown having paid for the cigars. I asked him where he got that info, it was from an article forwarded to him from a friend. I asked him, looked at major media sources. You see this on the AP? ABC? NBC, CBS, CNN, Fox, MSN, Yahoo, Reuters or any other major site? If this is true, it's big enough news that they will pick it up. Til then, doubt these motivated blog type sites. Don't know, but your information is the same. Don't trust it, especially this is the type of information that does get released.

I tend to think owlman has a point--I think if you release the tape in the convience store you certainly release the fact your police officer has an orbital blowout fracture.

generally blowout fractures dont need surgery--certain criteria has to be met. it is dfeasible if he got punched as he claimed that he got the ct scan that day showing the fracture and no treatment was needed.

the pisser today is the governor of missouiri coming out and saying the cop needs to be "vigorously prosecuted"

shouldnt the grand jury decide that? no qualifiers no reason given why just that the cop needs to be "vigorously prosecuted."

next time a cop gets buillrushed I wonder if they hesitate after all this

So?

People retire to Mississippi. They don't move their family there for the great education system and all the job prospects. There aren't any. What there is, is many opportunities to get all-u-can-eat-dinner for $3.99 at 3PM. That is bang-for-buck. Retired people with little money, like that.

The point you have made isn't any point at all..... there is going to be a #1 in Education (Massachusetts, my home state) and there is going to be a #50 (Mississippi.) It just so happens that the state that is #1 in Education also has the highest per-capita number of college graduates who are residents. Plenty of high paying technical work for them too (professional work that gave them all golden-handcuffs-health-insurance which is why the economics of Romneycare worked in Mass but Obamacare will NEVER work nationwide because the dishwasher work at the Sizzler in Biloxi Mississippi doesn't warrant health insurance)....

...and when the Massachusetts residents turn 62, their kids are already out of the house so those college graduates quit, they sell their McMansions, go on Social Security, and move to MA/NY-South (aka Florida) to live among the riff-raff. They aren't going to Florida for the education system I can assure you. Are you still sighing tick?

They also build ships at Ingalls (or did, I don't know if they shut down or not) but car manufacturing at one plant in Mississippi does not make the state an economic power. It isn't. It never was. It never will be. (I think they have pretty much always been either #48, #49, or #50, since 1959 anyway when we went to 50.)

They don't have the education in Mississippi. They will not be an economic power in the information age. Can't happen. They don't have the people. In Massachusetts, if I have $500,000 cash in the bank, I could rent 5000 square feet of office space (somewhere), hire 10 entry-level-developers, run lean for 6 months, and bid on multiple multi-milion dollar software development projects for large companies. That happens all the time in MA because the technical people are available. That shit does NOT happen in Jackson MS. But, I'll bet you can make $30K dealing poker in Biloxi to retirees when their SS checks come in.....

I was listening to them talking about this on XM-91 this morning on my way to work. Basically, the commentator said what happened to Braxton is total disaster for the Ohio State program this year. They can not beat Michigan State without Miller. Can't happen.

Yes, I can't control that. That is all on him.

But I have tried to reason with people who were worse than tick. There was a Rules Girl over at Worldcrossing who had two master's degrees. She lived in Southern California. I remember her very clearly saying that she felt that her education should have granted her EXTRA voting power in our Republic because nothing annoyed her more than some no-toothed, inbred, wife-beater-hick in Mississippi having the same right to vote as her because that vote would cancel hers out. She felt her education made her an "informed voter" and as such, we should give her vote more weight.

So? I mean do you even care what a bunch of 60+ year old redneck bigots think of this situation? I sure don't, screw 'em. I mean lets be honest JD, these guys become the "Grand Dragon" or the "Imperial Wizard" or whatever because they don't really have anything else to do in their boring, interesting lives, other than putting on a sheet.

Mississippi, 3rd most miserable state in the U.S. (West VA #1, KY #2)

Well-being index score: 63.7
Life expectancy: 75.0 years (lowest in U.S.)
Percent obese: 35.4% (highest in U.S.)
Median household income: $37,095 (lowest in U.S.)
Percent with high school diploma (3rd lowest)

Nowhere else in the U.S. did people feel as negative about their work environment as in Mississippi. But this was just one of the problems facing state residents. Respondents were among the most likely in the nation to lack access to basic necessities. More than a quarter of people surveyed in the state indicated they did not have money for food at some point in the previous 12 months, while nearly as many lacked money for health care. By a number of measures, the state was one of the absolute poorest in the nation. The median income in Mississippi was just $37,095 in 2012, lowest in the nation. Also, 24.2% lived below the poverty line, more than any other state. With limited access to basic needs and poor healthy behaviors, the state was among the worst in the nation in physical health assessments. Last year, no state had a higher obesity rate than Mississippi. In 2010, no state had a higher rate of death from heart disease or a lower life expectancy at birth than Mississippi.

If you had $500,000 cash in the bank in any state, you'd be lying...
