Now the plan is Air Force, Boise State and Navy in football-only moves, and Central Florida and Temple in all sports?

Well, that's... uh, something I guess. Why not target 6 schools for football membership though instead of 5 so you could theoretically have a conference championship game (of course it wouldn't happen because the continued defections from the BEast will keep them below 12... but still, you'd think for appearances sake that would be the plan.) Why not add Army for football only membership as well?

At least ECU isn't mentioned in this rumor and Temple would bring its basketball team.

And it still should be Memphis getting the all sports invite instead of UCF. I mean, you know, throw the basketball members a bone here.

I guess they are still positing that Nova could bump up its football to 1A and be the theoretical 12th member. Ha! Nova has been teasing that shit for years now. You might as well leave Air Force out of the invites and say that you think Georgetown could be the 12 the team.

Oh well, perhaps Air Force and Navy are a package deal so they don't have to worry about scheduling each other ooc. With just Army out of the loop, Air Force and Navy will each just have that 1 ooc game locked in and still have some flexibility in their ooc schedules.

Look at me talking like this will happen. Even if all these teams are invited and accept... we know most of the current 6 are going to leave for the Big 12 or ACC.

UC is still screwed. Oh and thanks Daugherty for pointing it out, you shithead. (Actually, I don't mind him pointing out that they are screwed so much as I despise him reveling in it. Like it was a mistake for UC to ever even try to be relevant. Fuck you Paul. Fuck you in your ferret face.)

Everyone's waiting to see what Notre Dame will do. My guess is next year, Notre Dame will start talking to NBC about tv contract extension past 2015 and realize the golden goose of independence is now cooked. This time next year Notre Dame will make a move and the 16 team conferences will fall into place.

a few folks are saying that Joker is done this year.

Leach has a book signing in November in Lexington and fans are organizing to go show him support as the next head coach.

no idea if the administration wants him but he has indicated he wouldn't mind coming back to Lexington

1. Of all the people to eff with, Steve Smith is not that dude. He's certifiably crazy.

2. With Cam Newton on the field, Carolina may not win, but it will be exciting to watch. He's a one man Must See TV

3. On a separate note, my best friend's son (HS Jr.) just ran for 242 and 5 TDs this past weekend.

Having Leach on the UK sidelines surrounded by barrels of whiskey calling plays would be awesome.

Even the ND faithful on ND Nation are starting to realize it's ineventable. Trust me, they'll wait to the last possible minute and get the sweetest of sweatheart deals you can possible imagine, and for a good reason. because they can.

Kentucky/Barhnart isn't smart enough to hire Leach. Name me one other major college AD that could have the hires of Billy Gillispie and Joker Phillips on his resume and still retain ther job?

....oh, and btw, I get a chuckle when I think of the Big Blue fans here at the Pen who blasted me last year when I started calling for Joker's job...just like they did when I FIRST started calling for Tubby's. Someday you young pups will learn.

TCU to Big 12, done deal. Could be a turning point and save the Big 12.

Yeah, it looks more like the Big East will be the football casualty. I think Missouri ends up staying put. I don't think the SEC or Big 10 is overly enthusiastic about bringing them in.

The SEC is probably enthusiastic, but individual schools, and Missouri's academics may not be. Missouri will bring the most dollar signs for the least amount of hassle and effort than any other school will.

Why would Mizzou's academics have an issue? Missouri is middle of the road academically. Nothing to write home about - and they were in a conference that was very similar- overall- to the SEC before.
