I think it would still be manslaughter if it was tried in Hamilton County.

In connection with the chase and crash, Isreal was indicted on nine charges:
Murder, involuntary manslaughter, aggravated vehicular homicide, receiving stolen property and failure to comply with police, two counts each of felonious assault and possessing a gun by a convicted felon.

Carla Conyar, Isreal's mother, said there should have been more African-Americans on the jury.
She said her son is "a good child."

Relative to what?

How can you be convicted of murder, involuntary manslaughter, aggravated vehicular homicide, & felonious assault for the same death?

maybe theres a special rule where you can layer on redundant charges to get a bigger sentence if the defendant is black

a killing of a police officer while committing a felony is felony murder. I don't think there's any way I wouldn't have convicted the "man". Of course, I also think Monica Lewinsky was an adult woman who had an affair with an adult man who happened to be married. Big fucking (not even that in reality) deal.

http://local.cincinnati.com/community/S ... oak-hills/

The Westboro Baptist Church demonstrators have arrived. There are four protesters from the group present and they are holding signs defaming homosexuals and members of the military. They are also playing music from a portable radio.

A group of counter-protesters is gathered across the street from Oak Hills High School, carrying their own signs in support of our troops and homosexuals. About 100 people are in the counter-protest group, who are chanting “U.S.A.” from time to time.

For some reason that sequence of paragraphs made me laugh.

The Oak Hills parking lot is empty, as students were dismissed at 12:50 p.m. today.

Hmmm, wonder if I could get out of work early if I got the Westboro nuts to protest there?

Anyway, I never did see an explanation as to why those dickwads decided to protest Oak Hills high school of all places.

"in support of our troops and homosexuals"

They can't do that to our pledges! Only we can do that to our pledges!

I grew up in Murtha's district. This is no surprise. When you're tied as close to the UMWA as he was, you're hands will get dirty...

Murtha seemed like a deceny guy who had a long history of skirting the edge of acceptability when it comes to "serving" certain constituents.

Eric Cantor was scheduled to give a speech on income inequity at the Wharton School of Business.

He found out that 300 seats were open to the public and realizing he'd face protestors, canceled the speech.

The speech was called "“A Fair Shot at the American Dream & Economic Growth."

Another tough talking sleazebag that knew he'd get called out

I am actually curious on what the fuck he was going to say. The only thing he could do is say that today's policies don't give equal opportunity to the "American Dream." No way could he have a sliver of information on what needs to be in place to increase Americans' chances at accessing a fair shot at "the dream."
