The people complaining about immigrants way back when were the same type of morons doing it now.

Trump's plan is becoming clear to me: ally with Putin and clean up the Middle East. Install "friendly" dictators or back the ones in power and try to obliterate Islamic extremists. Of course, plenty of land and money will be gained by this. Just wait, we're going back in with a vengeance but this time with Russia at our side.

no, the people that think Americans on the whole have always wanted immigrants just don't know what they're talking about.

If you can't tell the difference between an immigrant and a settler, then maybe there is no hope for you.....

Of course, the real issue here isn't about immigrants. It's about Trump's selectivity in deciding which countries to ban people trying to enter the US. Again, he's showing his hand and I wonder when anyone is going to do something about it instead of talking about how we've always hated immigrants or praising him for preventing future terrorist attacks.

We've lost all perspective over fear and ignorance.

Trump made a strong move with the National Security Council removing the Director of National Intelligence and the chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff but adding a nazi blogger. Seems like an upgrade. I feel more secure.

You really think Trump is going to be an effective president? He's going to bring chaos like nothing we've seen.

This is what happens when a CEO (a mediocre one, with vast interests, but little infrastructure, to boot) is selected to lead a government. This is so "top down" that it will wear thin on the bureaucrats downstream. We deserve everything we get out of this, but it is interesting to see so many people shrug off this chaos or make excuses for day after day of missteps and ineptitude. The stakes get higher every day and how the administration has performed so far, makes me think this will end horribly.

This Twitter feed spent the whole day, every 5 minutes, tweeting the names of the passengers of the MS St Louis (Jewish Germans, fleeing persecution) that were denied asylum by the US government in 1939. This was on National Holocaust Remembrance Day, the same day president Trump signed his Executive Order banning immigrants from certain Islamic countries. After the atrocities of Auschwitz and other (larger) camps were reported after WWII, the US made a decision to never make that mistake again. They lived up to that promise, by and large, for almost 70 years.

Now, we're here. Anne Frank and a Syrian girl from Aleppo.

I think he's doing what he was elected to do

Just like obama did with Obamacare and he didn't give a fuck about the millions of people that didn't want it either.

problem solved - now all those rejected people have a place to go and can still get a Big Mac, subsidized health care and live in a bi-lingual country.

and they get to hang out with all the celebrities that left America when Trump is elected.
