It looks like Bama got an NIT bid. A life size cardboard cutout of Grant would coach just as well. The cardboard cutout may have a bit more emotion, though.

The best team of all time IMO is the UCLA Alcindor/Wilkes team.
UNLV shot it infinitely better from 3, though. Not even a contest.

I'm not worried about best of all time - I'm just worried about best this year.

And with getting a #1 seed, they are not likely to be punted in the first round the way they had (recently) or at least, year after year.

Would Billy Kennedy lose to cardboard Grant if you spotted him a 14 point lead at halftime? Probably.

I swear this season has turned out so bitter. Every blessing (the NCAAs ridiculous decision to allow Danuel House to play this year, having half the good talent in Dallas decide that A&M is the place they can all play together next year) has led to the ridiculous idea that we are getting better, even I fell for it. Only had to win one more fucking game against some shit teams and had a 14 point lead in one. The mouth breathers who can make a difference all think next year is finally the year, but anybody with a brain know that these freshmen aren't gonna get coached up, even if raw talent of our seniors does take us to a 1st round flameout next year. I imagine that then these same mouthbreathers will laud Kennedy for that "achievement" even though he inherited a team picked to come in 2nd in the Big 12 and had gone to 6 straight tournaments and hasn't done shit since then except sucked ass and maybe finally got back to the tournament in year 5 with transfer talent and a luck ass recruiting class. Then I imagine it'll all fall apart, probably after some fool gets the idea to extend his contract and give him a raise.

There is a disturbance in the force. I sense that our most gracious board host might be bitter at this moment. What amazes me is that BOTH Indiana AND Texas bubbled into this tourney while Temple stayed home? (Strange...)

She doesn't seem too thrilled with the smooch..... Doubt if I would either.
Is that Rupp reincarnated like the old Grandpa on the original Texas Chainsaw?

UNLV in '91 seemed more unbeatable than UK does this year. Of course, there was better competition in '91 than there is now.

Cardboard Grant would lose to Kennedy. No doubt.
As a follow-up question: if you put Cardboard Grant on one bench and Real Grant on the other, what would happen? I personally believe there would be a rip in the space-time continuum, causing a critical shift in the very fabric of the universe.
For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Grant,' and he will lead your team astray. And you will hear of missed shots and lack of discipline. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For player will rise against player, and team against team, and there will be turnovers and pointless fouls at critical times. All these are but the beginning and the end of the pains of the Time of Grant. “Then he will deliver you an inferior product and his team shall clang an off balance three, and you will lose to all teams for Grant's sake. ..."

It was the rip that consumed the career of Mike Price as the Alabama football coach, causing you to think it never happened.

We'll see. Get out of the first round first before you go and destroy every single bracket in the world.

Grant coached for Bama. Price never did. Had Price coached any decent amount of time, I have no doubt that he would be have been more successful than Grant.

Oh he coached. His most notable strategy was pulling a hot shooter. He also encouraged cold shooters to keep heaving bricks because ?aw of averages. Pure genius.
