When a reporter in Chapel Hill asked about the four corners tribute, Williams didn't get far into his response before launching into an impassioned plea for increased fan support. An announced crowd of 20,779 fans attended Saturday's game at the Dean Dome, but Williams wasn't pleased with the amount of noise they generated or their lack of recognition of the four corners tribute as it took place.

"I was a little disappointed more of our crowd didn't have more savvy, but I felt they were asleep most of the day anyway, so it's alright," Williams said. It's not intended to be criticism but it's criticism. We need some dadgum help. We go on the road and people are screaming like banshees or something. Today it's like, every time I yell at a player, they turned around and looked at me. I yelled at a player Wednesday night (at Duke), and he never knew I was freakin' yelling. He thought I was doing exercises.

"If you want to act like I'm chastising the fans, tell them to come in and invest. Come in and invest. We need some help when we come play back here.

"We need some more support. My gosh. We're trying to honor the greatest coach I've ever — maybe one of the greatest individuals I've ever known. And I can understand if you didn't recognize it because it sort of went quickly. And it was nice to get a backdoor layup. But don't sit over there and feel like we have to entertain you. This is a team thing."

Now in his seventh season, Crean has taken Indiana to the NCAA tournament twice, both times with NBA lottery picks Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller on the roster. The other four seasons, the Hoosiers haven't even played in a postseason tourney. And Crean's teams have struggled late. He is 27-22 in February and March since Indiana emerged from the NCAA scandal that gutted the program about the time Crean took over.

in retrospect, that last second shot by Watford sealed Indiana's doom (although apparently he was given a contract with at $12m buyout just prior). Had Indiana not beat Kentucky, and then flamed out to UK in the Sweet 16, he'd be fired by now. Coaches with that record don't last long at mid majors, must less a former blue blood
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

This will sound like a sarcastic joke, but I'd really like to hear who y'all think Roy is more like as a coach now:

Denny Crum or Tubby Smith?

Right now, I say Tubby (double digit losses every year, win just enough not to have the entire fanbase turn on him)...Trending heavily towards Denny (with the sanctions headed our way, the losing seasons are next).

If I had to choose, I'd say Denny.

The game didn't pass Tubby by, he waved at it from his recliner

rumor going around Donovan isn't happy at Florida - they have delayed a promised renovation for their facilities another year - a year after he went to the final four

UNC should be all over him.

They have all the $ in the world. If he's unhappy it's because they suck this year. Which of course is on him.

Its just a rumor but its true they have delayed planned renovations on basketball facilities.

They need better results from him. It's a football school 1st and don't forget he once jumped to the Magic for a day.

he went undefeated in the SEC last year and a final four.

the issue is they probably need better results from the football program to be flush with money again

eCat -- In a heartbeat, brother! But don't forget, Ol' Huckleberry Roy got his panties in a wad once upon a time, over Billy the Kid's "aggressive recruiting tactics". That was back in the Bret Bearup days on the circuit, remember that?

Anyway, you know I'm a rogue Heel Fan. Fuck Roy's opinion. Three double digit loss seasons in a row has him at Tubby Smith levels...and spiraling towards Denny Crum's abyss.

Its been 24 years, but my alma mater finally returns to the tourney.....

That dude with the one front tooth is killing me. WTF man!!
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.
