I'm kinda sad to see Qaddafy (it's awesome how you can choose your own spelling of his name...how many dictators offer that type of linguistic freedom?) gone. I was looking forward to him having a Twitter account. Seriously, his statements broadcast to his fellow Libyans the past few months have been classic and funny.

Because I'm not socially conservative, I'd prefer Romney's Supreme Court picks over Perry's.
Yep, if it's Obama v Romney going into election season, I will feel better about that fact.

Even though it was our weaponry that killed their dictator, we will still be hated by whatever regime or form of gov't that replaces him....

He didn't have a chance to win imo, anyway, but this will kill him in the primary
Herman Cain’s confusing views on the government’s role in abortion
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/herm ... 47593.html
ON CNN
"It's not the government's role, or anybody else's role, to make that decision," Cain said in response to a question from Morgan about whether the government should ban abortion when a woman becomes pregnant because of rape or incest. "It ultimately gets down to a choice that that family or that mother has to make. Not me as president. Not some politician. Not a bureaucrat. It gets down to that family. And whatever they decide, they decide. I shouldn't try to tell them what decision to make for such a sensitive decision."
ON FOX
Cain: I'm pro-life from conception, yes.
Stossel: Any cases where it should be legal?
Cain: I don't think government should make that decision.
Stossel: People should be free to abort a baby?
Cain: I support life from conception. No, people shouldn't just be free to abort because if we don't protect the sanctity of life from conception, we will also start to play God relative to life at the end of life.
Stossel: So I'm confused on what your position is.
Cain: My position is I'm pro-life. Period.
Stossel: If a woman is raped, she should not be allowed to end the pregnancy?
Cain: That's her choice. That is not government's choice. I support life from conception.
Stossel: So abortion should be legal?
Cain: No, abortion should not be legal. I believe in the sanctity of life.
Stossel: I'm not getting it. I'm not understanding it. If it's her choice, that means it's legal.
Cain: No. I don't believe a woman should have an abortion. Does that help to clear it up?
Stossel: Even if she is raped?
Cain: Even if she is raped or the victim of incest because there are other options. We must protect the sanctity of life and I have always believed that. Real clear.

Not talked about, but important...
U.S. Bancorp Chief Executive Officer Richard Davis said he’s “frustrated” that Congress hasn’t confirmed regulators to lead agencies in charge of new banking rules because the vacancies are hindering his industry.
Some of the appointments are stalled in Congress, where Republicans are trying to head off tighter bank regulation and have opposed creation of the consumer bureau. Davis, 53, is known for having a better relationship with regulators than most bankers, according to Nancy Bush, an analyst and senior contributing editor at SNL Financial. He told bankers in June not to “overreact” to the CFPB’s creation, urging them to embrace the agency and work with whomever is appointed.

Saw my first Fiat 500 on the road yesterday.
It was peach.
Apparently their marketing campaign focusing on the gays has worked.
Kind of a shame they are pigeon holing themselves in the states like that. The Top Gear guys (original UK version) absolutely love that car, particularly for city dwellers.

interesting article from the Telegraph. According to this guy, America will really be the worlds superpower in the next 5 or 6 years

Also Mook,
you should look into the Abarth version of the Fiat 500. Its a much higher horsepower version of it and a really fun affordable car. Unfortunately it doesn't look like Fiat will be selling them in United States anytime soon.
whooops = look like I was wrong - will be unveiled in November
