The news kills me, multiple deaths daily. Anyone know where I can find a suggestion box from heaven? I need there to not be any deaths from November to January. When I was younger I thought "grandma got run over by a reindeer" was a funny song. Now it makes me sad. The part that says "do we open up her gifts or send them back" is not funny. In fact it is a heart breaking thought and a decision too many ppl are faced with. How could you ever take that present out from under the tree? Christmas is suppose to be a happy time of year but it destroys this overly empathetic heart. I so wish I had the power to remove all of the sadness in this world

This article from Buzzfeed kind of highlights the discourse in the media, and the comments section is enlightening as well.


Basically this couple on TV have this little show about home improvement in Waco , TX and based on their personalities the show has exploded to like 4 million watchers.

Since then, they have had people come on their farm and kill one of their pet goats, had people take their houses and turn them into B&B (AA and I discussed this) and now a Buzzfeed writer is trying to stir up controversy by implying they support conversion therapy because their Baptists preacher is against homosexuality. From watching the show occasionally, I would have never known what their beliefs on anything were.

The MIF loves that show. I've watched it a few times with her, they do seem like genuinely likable folks...

She isn't unattractive, but I wouldn't like go crazy over her on her looks. What I find attractive is how devoted she is to her husband, to her family, how she can juggle her career, family and still keep him happy.


I wouldn't have given a fuck about any of that at 20 years old. And now I'm pretty much past it with teenage kids but I still find that is a collection of qualities that is rare in a woman.

I will say the buzzfeed article made me think about Obama and his preacher. I was not a fan of his reverands anti-American stance - and unlike how I don't think the Gaines views -which haven't been mentioned - should be considered in light of their religion, I think it is fair to burden Obama with that because the man was running for president and you can't tacitly or otherwise approve of a message of being anti-American and run for president.
