Dusty never learns. He did the same thing to Derrek Lee, and cost him an MVP in doing so...

Not to mention what he did to Wood and Prior...

Fucking Rat running on the field before the game didn't help matters any.

Also Brandon getting thrown out at 3rd.

First pitch. Heh. Figures.

Go all season with none of the starters missing a start until now. Dammit Dusty!

God only knows why Baker continues to play Stubbs over Heisey. I have faith that Latos will be ready and we'll pull it out. I'd be there but I have to work all fucking day.

Still want to defend the decisions of Dusty?

I'll let today go-- it was a done deal soon as Leake was forced to dust off 2-week of cobwebs and step into the biggest game of his life. That's Jocketty's fault for leaving him off the 25-man playoff roster.

But LAST NIGHT -- please tell me, Rat, why Dusty pitches to Arias with the pitcher on deck and 1st base open. Walk Arias and Bochy either has to let a relief pitcher hit or use the final pinch hitter on his bench which will also serve to take SF's closer out of the game. And, oh yeah, chances are the Reds aren't even in that situation if Dustbag lets Chapman start the 10th but, oh yeah, a closer can't pitch more than one inning in "the book", that's right.

I hate his assface

You listen to too much talk radio.

Actually, I listen to zero talk radio.

But, as a deflection defense, not bad. Please give me a reason how that was smart "strategic" baseball. If you can.

Brandon lost that game for us. Not Dusty. You never make the 1st out at third. That actually happened. Speculation about what coulda or shoulda happened is for the writers & talking heads. Dusty could have made that move & the pinch hitter could have hit a grand slam or a double or whatever and then what? Dusty gets blamed. The game was lost on the field, not in the dugout. Had Rolen fielded that ball there is no discussion

I'll trade you Fredi for Dusty right now. Will even throw in a dozen baseballs.

Dusty won't be back next year anyways. Win or lose.

I disagree. The manager's job is to put the team in the best position to win (whether that's the best possible line-up, or walking to load the bases to force the other manager's hand, or calling for a bunt or not bunting when the situation calls for it, or use of the bullpen, etc., etc.), THEN it is the players' responsibility to execute.

But Dusty made the decision to pitch to him and if Rolen would have done his job it would not even be an issue like I said before. They've won 99 games this year. I think he's knows better than we do how to put his team in the best position to win. Say Chapman goes out for inning #2 and we end up losing anyway & then Leake doesn't suck & it's close & when it's the 9th Chapman isn't available because he was used up in a loss the night before. You can speculate on so many different things if you want to.

So, no takers for Fredi?

" Had Rolen fielded that ball there is no discussion"

When I first read that, I thought you were making a reference to Holden Caulfield...

Well then that grand slam should just about complete the shitastic collapse of this team. Do us all a favor and don't get any more hits the rest of the day. Might as well go out that way also.
