Biden would have definitely won the election, in my opinion. He speaks populism better than almost any DEM out there. Beau's cancer played a part there, too.
As I've said before, Hillary has long burned the line of knowing what is corrupt or not, what is right or not. Those leaked emails showed that even her closest advisors noticed it and had to have discussions on how to handle it.

Now don't think for a minute that I won't believe Trump will have those moments. I'm just not certain that any person in Washington is worse than Clinton. She's lived in that world for 30 years. She doesn't even register a pulse to the concepts of selling access to foreign governments for money. That's just how its done to her.

But it still unnerves the people in flyover states. They had a say about it on Tuesday.

Here’s what I know, not my opinion. About 6:30 this morning she called an old friend. She was crying inconsolably. She couldn’t stop crying. And her friend, her female friend from way, way back said it was even hard to understand what she was saying she was crying so hard. This is Hillary we’re talking about. Eventually her friend said she could make out that she was blaming James Comey, the Director of the FBI, for her loss, and, I don’t understand exactly, the president of the United States for not doing enough.

Setting aside Comey for a moment, I did notice Obama ratcheting up his support of Hillary in the last 2 weeks. The challenge is however, if you can't talk about the good things for Hillary, then you have to talk about the bad things for Trump. Thanks to a brutal GOP nomination process - and essentially the entire nation's media constantly beating Trump like a drum, what could Obama say the last 2 weeks about Trump? The nation was deaf to Trump criticism at that point. They were solely focused on the Clinton takeaways.

I have no idea whether Comey's announcement made any difference in the minds of voters, but I do know his first one tainted Hillary in the eyes of any reasonable voter - and reinforced the idea of a corrupt government in collusion with each other.

"The VIX is where I'm focused."

Logan told me he bought "a lottery ticket" on Monday, a credit spread on the VIX. Not much, but he just wanted to take a shot. He said the thing exploded in the early morning hours after the election, but also something about it being in an ETF so that he couldn't cash it in until the next morning when the market opened, by which time, of course, there was virtually no gain. I can't understand how in this day and age of electronic trading you couldn't trade out of a position except b/w the hours of 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. That seems archaic to me. I know the commodities markets are open about 20 hours a day, I figured everything else could also be traded at virtually any time. Guess not...

I don't think mandates matter even a small amount. In addition to Trump, the republicans hold congress as well, so they are gonna view it like they have a mandate. Of course, the president, I'm sure, will have "a pen and a phone." Somewhere the idea got started that that's all you need to start changing things into whatever image you want and Trumps not really republican or democrat.

republicans may control congress but they hate Trump and I assume the feeling is mutual at this point.

President Obama has described Donald Trump as ignorant, dangerous and unfit to lead the nation, but he’ll ask the Republican president-elect Thursday not to wipe out his cherished, legacy-making executive actions on everything from the Iranian nuclear deal to Obamacare.

In a meeting at the White House to prepare Mr. Trump for taking office, Mr. Obama will try to persuade the president-elect to honor what his aides call a “tradition” of preserving executive actions implemented by the departing chief executive.

“There is a tradition, particularly with regard to executive agreements of successive presidents preserving some element of continuity,” said White House press secretary Josh Earnest. “I don’t know whether or not that will apply in this case. But as a part of this effective, smooth transition, President Obama will have an opportunity to talk to President-elect Trump about some of the benefits of these policies.”

Mr. Trump campaigned on promises of repealing the Affordable Care Act, ripping up Mr. Obama’s international climate change agreement to curb carbon emissions and tossing out his free trade agreement with Pacific Rim nations and scaling back the executive order granting deportation amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, among others. He has said his top priority is “to dismantle the disastrous deal with Iran” that lifted international economic sanctions in return for limits on Tehran’s nuclear programs.

This tradition needs to be thrown in the trash bin. It's basically I'll scratch your back if the next guy scratches mine. Executive actions dont need to be given perpetual power based on some BS tradition. If its a needed agreement in perpetuity, how about get the fucking congress to write in into law.

There's also a "tradition" of sitting presidents being able to nominate Supreme Court justices and and a "tradition" that the Senate will give them a full and fair hearing. Looks like that one went into the trash bin, too...

And they question how they lost.....
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.
