we had a Beefmaster's in my town growing up. It was a honky tonk with some epic stories, unfortunately they didn't stay open long enough to see me turn 21.
I assumed they served food but their calling card was the night club with Terry Mike Jeffrey and the Flight 309 band. He looked like that "happy trees" painting guy and sang a mean impersonation of Carl Perkins impersonating Elvis during the fat years.

I don't think the Beefmastor salad bar has 200 croutons in the bin. there are bigger salad displays at weddings but they keep it fresh all night.

They also have a bowl of fresh cooked and crumbled bacon at the salad bar. Not shitty bacon bits, real crumbled bacon!

back in the mid 80's big salad bars were all the rage. We had a steak house called Bonanza. The steak were crap but the salad bar was huge. We had a couple of places like that. Now its just Golden Corral and Chinese buffets

Beefmastor has sardines at their salad bar. That's a touch of class. Or ass one...

there's a place here called Western Sizzlin. I thought it used to be a chain but the only other one I've seen is in the next town. it's a leftover '70s-style steak joint where you take the tray through the line and get drinks and maybe strawberry shortcake and turn in your order. they have a big salad bar and a buffet so you get a little 4 oz. steak with potato, Texas toast and tea along with the buffet, which is basically country cooking. the fried pork chops are pretty good though. the whole thing is just $11 each, except tip. That's why there are so many fat people in this town.

there is a place here that is advertising a seafood buffet that has oysters on the half shell, snow crab and various fried seafood.
For $26.95 per person (with a coupon) you get a lobster tail and prime rib, plus the buffet.
I might have to hit that place after I pay off the steak I had Friday.

There were a couple of Western Sizzlins down here in South Ga back in the day. I'm sure I would think it sucked now but it seemed awesome when I was a kid.
