Why not? Bear was drunk enough of some of those shows he probably couldn't see the bowl!

But I'll never forget...

Bingo!!! That's a good 'un!!!

Drunk? We used to think he was just getting addled. He'd say things like,

"MmMMmmb... play with poise...mbmmbm.... character....mbbmbmmm....like an Alabama team...mbmbmm"

But you just knew that co'cola in his hand contained more than co'cola.

I like to think it was good Kentucky bourbon instead of the rotten stump water out of Tennessee.

They're shit talent evaluators, too. One? AU has ONE? These bastids could work in the Jaguars front office.

Yes, dumb ass....insane, even.

Look, Alabama finished 4th in the SEC-West last year. F O U R T H! And this year we lose our starting Rhode Scholar candidate QB....and four players that were so good that they were taken in the 1st round of the NFL draft: Our Heisman-winning RB, DT Marcell Dareus, OT James Carpenter and a WR that the Falcons traded everything to get in Julio.

To make matters worse, we lose Robby Green, Darrington Sentimore, Robby Green and Keiwone Malone to dsicipline issues and Trent's heir apparent, Dee Hart, to a knee injury.

So, do the math:

4th place SEC West finish in 2010 - FOUR 1st round draft picks AND the starting QB - Discipline issues AND Dee Hart = a land of teeth-gnashing and woe for the Crimson Faithful.

I refuse to get down on Bama, though - even though we are likely headed to the Liberty Bowl at the end of the season.

I don't know AA...As much as we lost? My math has to include an absolute lack of experience in our QBs. Sure we lost Greg, but his replacement, at BEST mind you, is a red shirt soph who has little game experience. I guess we could go with the red shirt freshman?

The Birmingham bowl game.

Here's another example of them thar reporters idiocy... AU was picked fifth in the SECw. Fifth. FIFTH?! They just won a National Championship.

The Bham Bowl is very possible, GBJs; however, I'm sticking with my Liberty prediction. If you charge me with the high crime of being an eternal optimist, all I can say is....guilty as charged.

May God have mercy on my soul as well as the beleaguered group of undersized kids and misfits in crimson that will have to suffer through the pain and humiliation of the season ahead.

Oh no AA, your optimism is to be applauded. If the fans don't wish for the very best outcome, how can they expect the players to push themselves? I've always had the problem of being a realist though.

I'm just grateful we finally have a quality coaching staff again.

Before some misguided person with scant football knowledge accuses me of sandbaggery, take this into consideration:

That team, that finished FOURTH in the SEC West last year and lost the players noted above, lost 3 games last year. THREE. Of the wins, how many did Julio, Ingram, Dareus, Carpenter and/or McEleroy play prominently in? If you answered "all" you would be correct. So, three losses WITH them = six losses without them (minimum).

I heard bama has more All-SEC selections than all the eastern conference teams combined.

Yeah, and who picks the preseason all-sec list? Yep, the same folks who predicted a three-loss, 4th place SEC team, who lost a ton of talent to win everything this year.

Apocryphal information made by retarded monkeys.

In other words,

"Gentlemen, Bama is in trouble."

When it comes to sandbaggery, AA never disappoints. GBJ is his worthy wingman.

You should both go ahead, avoid the Christmas rush, and purchase your BCSCG tickets. Bama is a lock to play for the national title.

The Liberty Bowl? That honor has been reserved for the Georgia Bulldogs - a team with talent that equals Bama's, but whose productivity resembles Ole Miss's. The Dawgs want to avenge their bitter loss in that esteemed bowl to mighty UCF.
