Looks like CNNSI is back in the message board business. Although when I tried to register "Jungle Rat" it said that name was not allowed.

last night my wife and celebrated our anniversary. We went to a local place where we ordered steaks off the menu that didn't have a price.

My steak was $80, hers was $74.

All said and done I dropped $260 for the dinner.

All I could think about on the way home was how I could have spent that money on something else that would have given me much more pleasure than a hunk of meat.

She felt the same way. I take no shame in saying we're more comfortable in a Cracker Barrel than we'll ever be in a high end place like last night. It may very well be the last time we ever go to a place like that again. I just can't get excited about food at that price, no matter the quality or presentation.

Today, to make matters worse, the kids are out of the house now until late tomorrow which would usually mean a porn induced sex lube fest, at least for 30 minutes anyways but she has a migraine that she thinks was caused by the dry rub on the steak. I get to change the oil in my mower instead.

Chicken Fried Chicken ain't ever caused me to lose out on pussy.

You don't even want to know how much we spent on our anniversary dinner this year. I thought it was worth every penny and easily one of the top 3-4 meals of my life but my wife, even though she knew it would be a huge number, was pretty bummed out when we got the bill.

yea, I'm not sure what kind of meal I'd have to have to say it was one of the top 5 meals in my life. Eating out just doesn't register with me like that.

I mean I'm sure the steaks were good but I just don't have a sophisticated enough palate to appreciate 65 day old aged meat cooked in rosewine blah blah blah - I'd just as soon get a porterhouse at the local butcher shop for $15, throw it on the grill with some hickory chips and eat that.

For me to enjoy the meal, it has to be an event - like with a group of friends , wedding - something like that and then the meal itself becomes memorable. I wouldn't have minded paying whatever I paid last night if the night was memorable beyond just having a steak the size of a brick.

We were at Alinea which is definitely an event. It's not for everyone but I love that kind of stuff. That said, Alinea is a once every five years or so type of place.

80 freakin dollars!!!!

I've never eaten an $80 dollar steak. For an $80 dollar steak, the waitress better be giving me a blow job

That's right down the street from me. I like that place. I can stuff myself & walk home just like the Inn.
