Thats an interesting observation given that I was reading Pravda English today, and the Russian propaganda is calling the new Ukraine govt Fascists.

Also from Pravda, an article disparaging evolution and Bill Nye. I was surprised at the number of people in the comments calling Bill Nye a nasty, lying jew.

Seems like it's bullshit, but I nearly spit out my coffee when I read this headline.

Per Pravda, unconfirmed reports that Yanukovych has died of a heart attack.

It would be nirvana to live in the world of the left's imagination — a world in which the U.S. is the greatest threat to peace and stability. Obama has shown greater bellicosity toward Republicans (described as "terrorists with bombs strapped to their chests") than toward our actual adversaries. When Mitt Romney cited Russia a long-term adversary of the U.S. in 2012, Obama's contempt was glacial: "The '80s called and they want their foreign policy back."

From Reuters, this morning. heh

Russian never fired a shot in the Ukraine, but there were plenty of casualties Monday on Russia's currency and stock markets.

Share prices of Russian companies plunged more than 11 percent, and the Russian currency, the ruble, also tumbled. The country's natural gas monopoly, Gazprom, which sells gas to Ukraine and to other parts of Europe through pipelines crossing Ukraine, fell 12.5 percent by 10:30 a.m. Eastern time, wiping out nearly $13 billion in shareholder value.

The Russian central bank spent about $10 billion to prop up the ruble, Reuters reported.

Mona Charen is a one-note neocon and a lying cunt. She ascribes that quote to Obama, when it was a guy by the name of Jack Pfeiffer who made the statement (on CNN, in an exchange with Jake Tapper about the debt ceiling, and for which he later apologized).

A comment posted under Mona's article:
All Pres. Obama has to do is ask Congress to reinstate the military draft of 18 to 35 year olds, no exemptions, male & female, to meet the Russian crisis and raise taxes to sustain the effort. In fact, make sure their kids & grandkids get "front-of-the-line" priviledges. Chickenhawks, Tea Partiers, Republicans, and critics will be silenced as the public outcry in opposition to American involvement in Ukraine becomes the voice of America. Surprising how quick they turn into doves when THEY have a pound of flesh in the game.

The former Internal Revenue Service official at the heart of the agency's tea party scandal once again refused to answer questions at a congressional hearing Wednesday that quickly devolved into political bickering between Democrats and Republicans.

Lois Lerner headed the IRS division that improperly targeted tea party and other conservative groups for extra scrutiny when they applied for tax-exempt status during the 2010 and 2012 elections. She was the first IRS official to publicly disclose the targeting, issuing an apology on behalf of the agency at a law conference in May 2013.

But when she was called to testify before the House Oversight Committee a few days later, she invoked her Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate herself. Committee Chairman Darrell Issa recalled Lerner for a hearing Wednesday.

Lerner appeared with her lawyer, but she invoked the Fifth Amendment at least nine times when questioned by Issa.
