Re: Ostensibly Hoops
Eastern NC School for the Deaf (ENCSD) is located in my and Stu's hometown (Wilson). In recent years, they consolidated their football program with another deaf school in NC, so now their acronym is NCSsD (NC Schools for the Deaf). They recently played Louisiana School for the Deaf and were defeated. Here is the headline that Stu ran in the paper last night:
"NCSsD tripped up by LSD 56-6"
"NCSsD tripped up by LSD 56-6"

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
I'd say the score would indicate something stronger than "tripped up", but he couldn't resist...

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
There are a number of Xavier High Schools in Louisiana. I wonder what happens when X and LSD get together?

LSD Trumps X? You could start a generational imbroglio along those lines...

I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

I saw that a few days ago. I'm still trying to figure out what transit system that is. Dude appears to guide it to happening, so it seems like a set up.

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
fwiw its worth, I don't think Roy had his hand in the scandal.
Yes he brought his own academic advisor with him from Kansas, and I'm certain he knew, but you don't get to Roy's level in coaching without knowing how to have plausible deniability.
Roy walked into this situation with fake classes already ingrained into the daily lives of students, administrators - hell, even the ethics and compliance compartment were knee deep into it, and frankly , its not Roy's job to be concerned with the academic integrity of Carolina. UNC offered classes, his kids signed up for them, they make the grades (thru fraud but still) and to his credit, while I'm certain his academic guy was riding the wave of easy no show classes to keep players eligible, Roy realized after the 2005 team that something wasn't right. Its one thing to have a bunch of athletes be communication majors with the idea they are going to get into broadcasting, but some offshoot AFAM program?
so I think Roy keeps his job.
That said, I also think Roy walks after this season, runs a victory lap while Vitale, Bilas, Cornheiser , Wilbon and company praise him and at the same time kill the "rogue" academics at UNC that ruined the Carolina Way and forced a good man to walk away from the job and family he loved.

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
NC St fans are killing it again
found emails showing that the placement of non-athletes in these classes is intentional to avoid the improrpiety of classes setup just for athletes

another email out there where Crowder says "I've already put non athletes in the class so we can add your guy and she is talking to Walden.
wow

I will be damned. You're alive and doing something other than being my sister's bitch.CameronCrazy wrote:I can't say I am surprised by the report's findings. Despite some of the blind protestations here by Tar Hole fans, there was clearly fire associated with the smoke. The question now is what the NCAA will do, if anything. Anyone associated with what went on in either the academic or athletic depts has to be terminated, pronto.
I proudly took AFAM 040 at Carolina.
