Glad I could cheer you up. Success is fleeting. Chizik and Tuberville won titles at Auburn and are gone yet the steady but not spectacular Richt marches on...

FSU & Miami in the 80's forced the rest of college football to retool...Nebraska did it and won 3 titles...kicking the SEC around like a tin can...the SEC then retooled and is what it is now...they are starting to show chinks in the armor though as the rest of college football has started to catch up...but I actually think the next wave to hit widespread will be the Stanford power offense and solid defense to take over college football...it all runs in cycles...and every once in a while one player can make a team substantially better and rise to win it all (Cam Newton, Vince Young).

I would like to see power football return. Bama has won 3 titles recently more with power than speed...

Either team could have won. Auburn got some breaks, FSU got some breaks, Auburn shot itself in the foot more with the kickoff, the dropped opening touchdown, and the missed field goal and so FSU won.

Did you like hearing how FSU is basically an imitation of an SEC team?
I always wanted FSU to be in the SEC, but we're in the ACC which, imo, is much better thn being in the B1G

These are the thanks I get for sticking up for your team all year, in face of the daunting SEC hordes? Shameful

This is treachery. Not bbb's lack of appreciation for DSL's "advocacy", but DSL claiming that his primary motive was sticking up for FSU when in fact he was merely using them as a trojan horse from within which he could lash out at the hated SEC...

Got back from the left coast late last nite - congrats to the Auburn fans on a great game and great season.

The only game I have witnessed live that I think I enjoyed more was #2 FSU 21 and #1 Florida back in 96.

It was indeed a great game, even though it sucked to lose it. All the Auburn fans I know share my feeling about it - overwhelming pride for what this team was able to accomplish in one season. This will probably be one of the top 5 most fondly remembered Auburn teams ever.

Amazingly, with Murray, McCarron and Manziel all gone, Marshall will probably be the top QB in the SEC next year. That is a weird feeling for us. Our QB's are seldom that good. Cam was a rare exception.
