"You see gators everywhere on HHI - but it is odd to see one in the ocean now that I think about it."

"Yeah, always see them on the golf courses."

Hopefully Rat will lose a ball and go searching for it in the swampy underbrush...

Big discussion on that over at KSR. Someone wondered if the NBA put the writer up to that because of the focus on Coach K and the players getting hurt (not 100% sure that was his logic but something along those lines).

I can't fault Coach K for doing this as a recruiting angle - matter of fact I'm fine with it, but most people object to the instilled Sainthood given to him for doing it while they chastise Calipari for having a scouting combine (which is clearly a recruiting tactic)

besides my stance on gay marriage, probably the biggest generation gap thing I have going on right now is when I see a kid wearing a flat bill baseball cap, I want to rip it off his head and curve it. They probably look at my hats and wonder why I ruined a perfectly new hat

my wife isn't a big fan of caps either, plus I'm bald so I don't like people to think I'm wearing a cap trying to pass off that I still have hair

when we were kids, you'd get a new ball glove, oil it up, put a baseball in the pocket and wrap a rubber band around it. If you didn't have a rubber band you wrapped it in a towel and slept with it under your pillow.

when you got a new ball cap, you rolled it up and put it in your back pocket until the bill was curved.

that's just what you did.

I'm sure my grandfather was like "what are you kids doing throwing away perfectly good cans! don't you know you can kick'em down the road?"

I always hated the sight of a flat bill. It wasn't until the past year or so that I finally got used to them. Still, most of my ball caps are rounded. The Yankee is flat.

What I don't do are snapbacks though. I like my caps fitted. The kids today definitely go with the former, more times than not. I blame that decision on the shrinking middle class. Fitteds aint cheap.
