CNN has laid off more than 40 senior journalists in its newsgathering operation – including a pregnant producer who was two weeks away from giving birth to twins – as part of a reorganisation of the business under Jeff Zucker.

The cutting of production and editorial staff at the Time Warner-owned group comes as Mr Zucker tries to re-establish CNN as the dominant force in 24 hour cable news, a crown it lost several years ago to Fox News Channel.

Journalists at CNN? Up next, an honest politician.

"The Girls on Fox News" by Austin Cunningham

Well, I used to be Democrat, Liberal no doubt I didn't think Conservatives knew what life's about
Then I started leaving the Fox News on. If that's the face of the right, I'll tell the left so long.

Oh, I want a girl like the girls on Fox News Everyone is beautiful, anyone you choose
Whoever does the hiring knows how to light my fuse I want a girl like the girls on Fox News.

There's Gretchen, Meagan and Martha, Harris and Patti Ann
Janice, Jen and Julie, Maria, Anna and Alison
Dana, Ainsley, Andrea, Uma, Shannon, Molly and Heather

::::ever-a-body sing::::

Now please don't call me shallow, a pervert, or insane
Because who the heck does not love beauty with brains
I bet you that Bill Clinton when Hillary walks in
Quickly switches from Fox back to CNN

Brando's a pathetic SEC homer so that's a match made in heaven. He and Finebaum can fight over who gets to suck Mike Slive's dick first

On a more serious note, what are the odds a terrorist or serious security incident occurs at the Olympics?

I think there is a better chance that that the Ruskies will kill about 100 different innocent people in their stop-at-all costs terrorist prevention.

I've heard ticket sales are dismal to even the big events. One, nobody wants to vacation in the Russian Caucasus and two, you might get blowed up.

The Ruskies will be heavy-handed, no doubt, but it seems the Islamists are determined to make a showing.

Who doesn't like the gold commercials. And Fox & Friends, of course.

The boss had to fire somebody, and he narrowed it down to one of two people,
Debra or Jack. It was an impossible decision because they were both super
workers. Rather than flip a coin, he decided he would fire the first one who
used the water cooler the next morning.

Debra came in the next morning with a horrible hangover after partying all
night. She went to the cooler to take an aspirin. The boss approached her and
said: 'Debra, I've never done this before but I have to lay you or Jack off.'

'Could you jack off ?' she says. 'I feel like shit.'

Interesting. Did you notice that the region that's hardest to make your way out of poverty is the South?

Yes, mostly because of segregation done in the 50's and 60's. Too much concentration of poverty in some areas that fuels crime and dropouts. Resources are there for them to escape, but the culture they grow up in keeps them down.
