Most of the quants in my office play Words With Friends on iPad...which is essentially Scrabble online. I told them they could kiss my ass and show up at Mel's house with the $200 buy-in for Hold Em. Otherwise, they could get out my face with that shit. I get no enjoyment beating some math geeks in Scrabble.

E's boy Cal is at the Reds game being interviewed during the rain delay. He's just a cool cat living the life. I like that dude.

surely you don't think UNC is the first to attempt that one, do you? they might be the first to get nabbed. don't be bitter that State didn't think of it first.

Heh, Mel's is one of the old timers in my firm who has a huge place on the Westside of Manhattan. It's a private game, but we allow the occasional interloper to donate his money to my kids' college fund.

We actually play Dealer's Choice, but it's usually Hold Em...or Cinicinnatti.

I don't anything about Davis or what is going on because I don't care

but I will say that I think its pretty well established that major colleges ,at least, that they are going to release kids from an LOI if there is a coaching change because the kid will just tank on you anyways.

Usually they stipulate they can't go to a conference school or a rival

at least its that way in basketball

Carolina gets an expected verbal from local star (or rather, 5 star) Isaiah Hicks. A rising junior, he's listed as 6'8", 210 lbs. and the #5 power forward in his class. He verballed about 2 hours after he was offered. I love guys like that...
