Top rate is 43.4%. You are forgetting the extra hit from ACA. I know it's still not enough for you.

Finally found somebody sillier/more incoherent than tick.....

Russell Simmons sees it differently.

The hip-hop mogul says ObamaCare is already so successful it's saved thousands, if not millions of lives.

Yes, we initially wanted single payer, and we had to compromise back in 2009 for the Affordable Care Act. But, it is a damn good piece of legislation that has already saved hundreds of thousands, if not millions of lives. So, let us not give up now.

The businessmen attempt to recruit General Smedlley Butler, promising him an army of 500,000, unlimited financial backing and generous media spin control. The plot is foiled when Butler reports it to Congress.
The irony is that it is that those same interests (and their descendants) basically funded the Reagan Revolution, which started the redistribution of wealth back up the chain.

The top individual tax table rate is 39.6 now and will be in 2014. I concede that you heavy hitters probably can't avoid opramacares 3.8 penalty/surtax/surcharge/"hit", but there is no official bracket or table rate of 43.4 % to be found anywhere.

The heavy hitters have a whole army of tax lawyers and legal maneuvers that ensure they will never pay their nominally astronomical tax rate.

When the news of John F. Kennedy's assassination broke, it was met with a level of shock and horror that may be difficult for fully appreciate 50 years later. On the afternoon of Nov. 22, 1963, the Boston Symphony Orchestra was preparing for its usual Friday concert, to be broadcast live on WGBH. Music director Erich Leinsdorf learned of the president's death less than 10 minutes before the concert was to begin, according to NPR. He relayed an urgent message to the symphony librarian, William Shisler, to get the music for the funeral march from Beethoven's Third Symphony and distribute it to all the musicians immediately. Listen to the clip above as Leinsdorf calmly breaks the news to the audience that Kennedy is dead and the symphony plays a heartbreaking requiem for the city's beloved native son.

Bingo. The (few) heavy hitters that I know were stunned that Willard Mitt Romney was paying 13%, but then they realized he was paying that much too make it "look good."

Will/Scalise nails it.....

For concision and precision in describing Barack Obama’s suddenly ambivalent relationship with his singular — actually, his single — achievement, the laurels go to Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.).

After Obama’s semi-demi-apology for millions of canceled insurance policies — an intended and predictable consequence of his crusade to liberate Americans from their childish choices of “substandard” policies sold by “bad apple” insurers — Scalise said Obama is like someone who burns down your house. Then shows up with an empty water bucket. Then lectures you about how defective the house was.

The broken US healthcare system is a hodge-podge of in-network vs out of network, deductibles, disclaimers, co-pays, high out of pocket, waiting periods, exemptions, riders and refusals. And that's if you're lucky to have insurance.

For most of the rest of the civilized world, none of that bullshit applies.

And if you think the trade-off is that ultimately we get better care, then you haven't been paying attention.
