US Unemployment Benefit Applications Dip Again - Associated Press 4 hrs ago

The number of people applying for U.S. unemployment benefits slipped 2,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 339,000, the fifth straight decline that shows businesses see little need to cut jobs.

Applications are a proxy for layoffs. They have fallen back near pre-recession levels this month after spiking in early October because of the partial government shutdown and processing backlogs in California. The steady declines are the latest sign that companies are firing fewer workers.

And last week's report on hiring and unemployment in October showed that businesses are also hiring workers at a steady pace.

Finally. So can we now get back to Benghazi, Syria, domestic spying, and the stormtroopers at the IRS?
Will nobody challenge this unconstitutional changing of a law? The exec does not have the authority to just change a law to their liking or to avoid a negative consequences of their party's votes.

Congress is allowing a dangerous precedent to be set here. It is an erosion of congressional authority and separation of powers.

I thought elections and VOTES had consequences? All the idiots that voted for this and the idiots that voted for the people that voted for it should have to suffer the consequences of their votes. How dumb do you have to be to not realize you were being lied to at the time and that yes YOU were going to have to pay more and get less? Idiots.

This whole thing was built on a house of cards, on a sandy beach, in an earthquake zone, next to a Chinese fireworks plant. All the bull shit coverage that many people do not want, need, or will ever use (maternity, pediatric, mental health, etc) are in there simply as stealth taxes to fund this abomination. Now where will they come up with the cash to pay for this boondoggle? Any changes and it all falls apart, but of course it was going to anyway as people saw premiums rise and deductibles rise as well all while they lost access to their doctors.

I love how people are just now finding out about home sales over a certain dollar amount will be subject to a 3.8% tax that is supposed to be targeted to Obamacare. All the idiots should get what they deserve and when the employer mandate, which should be in place NOW and was also illegally delayed, kicks in you will see tend of millions booted to the exchanges as companies would rather pay a 2k TAX (don't ever use penalty again) than the cost of insurance. Those notices will start going out in September and October next year right before election so look for it to be delayed AGAIN. Illegally of course.

Meanwhile the people that can least afford this crap are losing hours as they are cut to part time as businesses try to avoid the costs.

They do. And the consequence of the votes in the last election is that we elected a King, a Dictator. This particular King fancies himself above the laws of the Constitution because that document does not constitute, it is a LIVING document, something he makes up as he goes along. That is the consequence of our own stupidity.

A Dictator is what Detroit needs (because too few of those 700,000 residents are fit for self-rule), not what this country needs at the Federal level.

I'm ready for Arizona to seceed from the Union. I'm done.

This is the shit we get when we let women (particularly unmarried women) vote. They vote for subsidy and resources at the expesne of men because they will never have to answer for it.

Hey Wiz!!!

Can you advise if there are quotes out there from the Dems about going to war with IRAQ which they approved of? I can't seem to find any.
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

The best part of that sass was his swipe at Obama's mixed race heritage when he said "What next? Is he going to be able to mandate how much cream we put in our coffee?"

home sales over a certain dollar amount will be subject to a 3.8% tax

Just to be clear married couples making over 250K a year would have to make 500K from the sale of the home--net profit before that tax hit them

unlikely to affect anybody but thoise in the top 2%

crash,

And your point is what? I don't know about you, but just because someone happens to have more money than me doesn't mean I am entitled to have the government go force it from in my name.

The other issue is this is just a way to HIDE the tax. If they had come out and said we are going to increase income taxes in such and such brackets to cover Obamacare it never would have passed.

There are no such quotes. It's a proven fact that 100% of Democrats opposed the Iraq War from the beginning. That's on the internets, so you know it has to be true.
