That's not why I said Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Didn't know that Banain means white though.

I've always loved the role call vote announcements, ever since I was a little kid. My favorite yesterday was American Somoa

American Samoa: “The territory of American Samoa, in the southernmost reaches of U.S. soil, the greatest importer of NFL players.”

Shouldn't they be the greatest exporter of NFL players?

LMAO at the Trumpites surprised and upset about Ted Cruz not endorsing the guy who repeatedly called him a liar and said that his dad wad involved in the JFK assassination. Everybody should habe known what this speech would be.

They knew he wouldn't endorse. They invited him because he has a face you love to punch.

Anyone think Ted Cruz would give Donald Trump a prime time slot without promising to endorse if the situation was turned around.

If Trump loses this election by a narrow margin, Ted Cruz will never be beyond being a shitheel from Texas in politics

Trump invited Cruz because everyone knew Cruz would do that. Trump can use that to unite people in the party by making Cruz the disloyal heel.

Considering everything, Cruz' speech was subdued. Surprised he didn't do much worse. I mean, forget Cruz' ugly wife, but to say your dad had a hand in the assassination of JFK?

DS: with poll numbers essentialy even between Trump and HRC, I don't think that was the plan. I truly believe that Trump's camp expected him to acquiesce, at least to a degree. If Trump had been 5-8 points down, maybe, just to get people talking, but with the way things are now, no need for that play.

its not just Cruz

remember the first debate when Fox News pushed for the candidates to unify and singled out Trump for saying he wouldn't commit to run 3rd party and people lost their minds.

Then a few weeks later when everyone still thought Trump was a joke, they pushed all the candidates to commit to backing the nominee of the party - clearly another tactic to reign in Trump.

Now that Trump is the nominee, Bush, Cruz, Kasich, Paul, Horseface (can't remember her name), Graham - virtually all of them except Christie and Carson have refused to honor their pledge.

and they wonder why people wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire right now in this election.

Here's the thing about Cruz though - I don't think the Trump supporters expected an endorsement, but an outright vote for Hillary or Johnson plea on the floor of the Republican convention?

....toast....

the crazy thing is had he just laid out the conservative platforms and defined freedom, he would have left people wondering is Trump was the man for that - and solidifed his position in 2020 if Trump loses.

I bet this will be reported as the worst political mistake in recent history.

I don't remember Kadich saying he would support the nominee - even going back to 2015.

KASICH: Yeah. But -- and I kind of think that, before it's all said and done, I'll be the nominee. But let me also say...

(APPLAUSE)

But let me also say, remember...

BAIER: But your answer is yes?

KASICH: But I'm the little engine that can. And, yeah, look, when you're in the arena, and we're in the arena. And the people out here watching -- we're in the arena, we're traveling, we're working, we spend time away from our family, when you're in the arena, you enter a special circle. And you want to respect the people that you're in the arena with. So if he ends up as the nominee -- sometimes, he makes it a little bit hard -- but, you know, I will support whoever is the Republican nominee for president.

I agree, the response was planned out. Hilarious how much of the Trump base takes the bait and gets genuinely worked up. Almost makes you feel Trump does know a little bit of what he's doing.

I fidnt see it, but the clips of Ted's speech are genius. A list of conservative values, each cheered wildly by the delagates...then vote your conscience. Lmao, which leads to booo, which i guesd is "fuck conscience! We're voting for Trump!"

its easy to get behind that - I'll never fault someone for voting their conscience
but that isn't what we're talking about here and you know it.

We're talking about a shithead move. And maybe Trump did see the bigger picture and let Cruz step right into it. I don't know

I hate to break it to you ecat, but the ones who are going to look like fools are the RNC. Trump is going to get crushed in a landslide. Not being associated with this is going to be positive for careers.

Well, it was about the least enthusiastic pledge of support I have ever read, but it was there. Stand corrected.

There are definitely many Trump crazies here, plus many who feel bound to vote "Not Hillary."

With regard to Cruz in particular, we elected him in the first place, hes our senator. I am certainly not plugged into statewide GOP politics but my guess is that standing up to someone who calls your dad a criminal, your wife ugly, and you a liar, is going to play well here. Much better than "being a pussy" and endorsing that guy would.

like I said, Texas people have a different take

whatever his motivations, it cost him the white house in 2020
