Alright 41-13. Pitt is for real, particularly on defense. Who do they have left?

@SMU, UVa, Clemson, @Louisville, @BC

I don't know, Clemson is the only real tough team there. They get past the pussycats, then yeah, they could run the table.

I think this team could beat Alabama. I think this team WOULD beat Alabama.

My prediction is 3 losses, starting with SMU

What did you see is this game that leads you to believe that? Seriously, what possibly deficiencies are there on the Pitt team that would allow them to be clobbered so badly by Alabama? That is a very bold statement you made and I would like to hear the science and that logic behind it.

If Pitt won this game, 41 to 38, in a manner similar to BYU's victory over Oklahoma State then I might get behind that argument. I would say, maybe you are on to something. I would say yes, Alabama can just take the field (any field) and simply out-athlete them. But Syracuse didn't score even one fucking point until Pitt put all their sophomores on the field, defensively. They already had the game in the bag, had nothing more to prove. Apparently, there is no way that Pitt could ever prove anything to you.

I'm not saying you are wrong here. But I am saying, show me the math. Break it down. Fill us in. Because if Pitt keeps winning, then Alabama may very well be the team they have to play in December.

Syracuse hasn’t beaten anyone worth a damn, and now neither has Pitt.

They did put on a wonderful display of throwing the ball to the other team for defensive touchdowns.

Alright if we are just going to say, Alabama beat Georgia and Georgia is ranked #2 so Alabama is totally awesome, blah-blah-blah, then why even have rankings or a playoff at all? Just anoint Alabama as awesome, a team that would beat Pitt by 3 touchdowns and be done with it. Right? Right?

Wrong.

I hate to break it to you SEC and B1G-T(en-11-uah-12-no wait 16)N conference freaks, but there are two other power conferences in the college football world and at the moment, they still matter. They matter to me. BC plays in one of them. So does UNC and as far as I can tell, I am not the only fan of an ACC school on this forum.

Now having said all that, do I PERSONALLY think Oregon is the best team in the country? Do I think Oregon would beat Georgia, Alabama, and Texas on neutral field by a point? (shrugs) Probably. Yeah, but they have a big fucking bullseye on their back right now, that's for damn sure. The pressure is off Ohio State for the moment. That said, I don't want to take ANYTHING away from Pitt. Or Miami. Or Iowa State. Or BYU. I would put ALL OF THEM in the fucking playoffs right now. All of them. There is room enough for all of them, settle this shit on the field.

Indiana still rolling. Oregon still rolling.

BYU up a touchdown so far. Curious to see if Penn State and Miami struggle or breeze by the way Pitt did.

Speaking of which, hurricanes are leading by 10 at halftime. Of course that game does not appear to be a breeze. And Penn State's game is anything BUT a breeze.

Okay Miami cruising now. Penn State, running out of time.

BYU and Iowa State both beat UCF. But Iowa State beat them by 3 at home and BYU beat them by 13 on the road in a game not nearly that close. I'm thinking BYU is the better team and we may not know until December.

Alright, lions of Penn State got it done late. If you discount service academies, all the unbeatens remain that way. This puts Ohio State in unique position to play serious spoiler. SEC teams will be rooting for Ohio State the rest of the way. Can't imagine College Gameday being anywhere other than State College on Saturday.
