Hey blood-sucking-tick?

Are we actually certain that they use actual medical doctors in Argentina and Chilie to perform the vaginal deliveries of children, or are they still using mid-wives (and thus, have a dramatically higher rates of deaths among the moms and the babies because the women don't have a fucking clue what to do in an actual emergency?) While you are at it, perhaps you can provide all the data showing how many nations (not named United States) have the sufficent capital infrastructure at their hospitals to actually perform an appendectomy orthoscopically (instead of the old fashioned way with knives/scalpals?)

Perhaps you should provide a set of meaningful data points instead of the brain-dead-ones you are told to repeat from the other mouth-breaters at the DNC?

Strange isn't it Toe, that the billionaire oil-shieks of Saudi Arabia bypass those 20 countries and fly to Boston Massachusetts, take a limosine from Logan to MGH (a "general hospital" I might add) and pay cash for their medical care....

Apparently my PPO won't go in for the jet, limo, or the specialists at MGH. Bastards.

Interesting that you brought that up. though. There is a pretty good healthcare delivery system in MA that's been in place for a few years now. Aw crap....what do they call it....WillardMittCare or something like that. A mandate and the highest % of insureds anywhere...supposed to be a model for the rest of the country when things get sorted out. heh

LOL at the $100 appendectomy.

Those countries healthcare systems are highly subsidized along with the rest of their welfare programs that take up the vast majority of their budgets. Not one of those other countries have the financial ability to defend themselves.

The 100.00 is an anomaly, same as our 13k one - the practical price for an appendectomy falls in the 4-7k range. Which mirrors pretty much the nations healthcare annual spending per person numbers.... Europe and Asia 3-5 thousand per person, the USA 8600. Which mirrors what healthcare professionals make in Europe and Asia vs the US. And then there's the gulf between medical facility and equipment costs there vs here. And drugs.

Because of our high costs of healthcare and the inadequacies of our distribution system, a third of Americans are one serious illness away from financial ruin. Say what you will about the ACA but at least it is designed to alleviate a large chunk of that potential ruin.

But yeah - we can defend ourselves like nobody else. Sucks that we lead the world in medically-related bankruptcies though.

60% of US Bankrupticies Due To Medical Bills, While 78% of Those Bankruptcies HAVE Insurance

http://beforeitsnews.com/economy/2013/0 ... 00492.html

You just don't see the Germans or Swiss going broke over healthcare, sardis. In fact, they rarely go into their pocket at all. And their healthcare results are better than ours. And their citizens have a lot more take-home pay than ours. Not to mention more weeks of paid vacation.

But you're right ...they don't build any aircraft carriers. That must really suck for them.

"and now headed to the stratosphere past Read my lips...."

If you actually turn the sound down and do as Bush Sr. said and read his lips, he wasn't saying "No new taxes", he was saying "No new Texas." He he kept that vow...

the oil shieks have been coming to MGH for medical care since there has been oil pumping and airlines offered international travel. apprarently, they didn't get the memo that the US health care system sucks compared to 20 other countries.

stop pulling a Noam Chomsky with the data you disingenuous fool

Our health care delivery system does suck for at least 100 million Americans, doofus. But your point about foreign billionaires being able to get comprehensive care from the finest US specialists is well taken.

No comment on WillardMittCare in MA? You know...health delivery brainchild of your favorite pol of all time?

nah, I guess you wouldn't want to comment on that lmao

This is interesting. I wondered about the high rate of senior officers leaving recently. Pretty soon all the officer core will be LGBT and will follow the party line.

That article is about the U.S. overpaying for healthcare and not getting the bang for it's buck. Gas is not mentioned. Maybe you're hearing voices?

And look toe...I know charts and stats aren't your bag - feel free to hang back whilst I share this stuff with some others. Try a crossword or maybe do the Jumble.

From tick's article:

"1.5 millions US citizens will declare bankruptcy, and a new study suggests that over 60 percent of those individuals will be brought under due to medical bills." That's 900,000 people, .3% of the population. Kinda makes the "a third of Americans are one serious illness away from financial ruin" comment a bit over the top. How do you get that figure anyway? Is that any different than me saying that "100% of Americans are one major car crash away from death?". Well, at least you are not as over the top as Dr. Steffie of Harvard quoted in the article, “Unless you’re a Warren Buffett or Bill Gates, you’re one illness away from financial ruin in this country,”

She'd make a great Obama speechwriter.
