I'm only getting 8% commission off your kids premiums, IB.
Life insurance-wise, I can get between 50-70% commish. May I set up a time to talk to you about the benefits of a well-rounded financial insurance plan?

I think Bill Maher is largely stopping having conservatives on his talk show because he knows that there isn't much that he can say to defend the merits of the ACA. Even this past Friday he and Michael Moore (both men way over the hill now) openly admitted that they are screwing kids. Of course Bill likes ACA.
He has no children. He will never have any children. So he is going to get his, fuck everyone else because he doesn't actually CARE about (let alone love) anyone else.
When confronted with logic that is unassailable (logic that dismantles his entire platform on any particular subject), Bill would reframe the entire discussion into something comical and non-sensical, like what you two just did. You both just paid me a very nice compliment. Basically you just said that I was entirely right about the ACA, an ass-reaming one of you had the nerve to tell me to sit back and enjoy.

Hmmmmmm. One person says young people hate social security and says that the only people that like are those that receive it.
But another earlier said that "Eight in 10 Americans think Social Security has been good for the country, with 70 percent of young adults agreeing and almost nine in 10 senior citizens saying the same."
Someone is lying or confused or both

From my uncle:
Early one morning, an elderly retired gentleman yelled to his wife....
"Honey....! Come see what I created....! It's an abstract sculpture depicting the five years of the Obama presidency!"
She yelled back, "Flush the damn toilet and come eat your breakfast."

Tell me how it isn't a ponzu scheme tick. Go out and try and set up a plan just like it in private sector. It's called Madoff times a trillion.
It is unsustainable in its current state. Eventually it will have to become a means tested welfare program or benefits cut big time.

Blame whoever you like. The president was correct - people with legitimate health plans can keep them. If a plan doesn't meet the minimum standards of the ACA, then what they have is shite. Some "catastrophic care" plans are barely worth the paper they're written on. And paying 10 dollars a month for discounts on drugs and vitamin supplements is not a health plan.
Tick you used have some integrity man. Who are you the fuck to decide what is legit or not? 85% of people had some form of insurance and 80%+ of them were happy with it. So about 68% of people were happy with what they had. Of the 15% who didn't a large number CHOSE to not purchase it. So for a 7-10% problem they blew up the whole thing. Why? Because there is no way to get to single payer when near 70% of people are happy with what they had.
So they blow it all up and design it to fail. Told you frittata's this 3 years ago.
Plenty of people were perfectly happy with their now illegal plans and now they will get ass reamed by something they dont want. Companies will continue to cut hours, cut plans, and not hire to avoid anything they can. And the bombshell in the not to distant future is that companies will slowly cut back plans until they match benefits and costs of plans on the exchanges or just drop coverage all together and pay the measly 2k TAX. Why was it set so low Tick? They know it's far cheaper to pay the tax than pay for ins for employees.
And then we will have the shortage of docs come into play but our resident docs can talk about that.
1.If you like your plan, you can keep it. --- An outright lie and knew it was a lie when he said it.
2. You can keep your doctor. ------- Outright lie again. There is no provision stating this anywhere in the law. That's up to docs and ins companies.
3. Costs will go down $2500 per family. ------- Lie again. You can't mandate "free" shit and expect costs to go down. Sticker shock everywhere.
Careful when you sleep with the devil tick. Just like Darth Vader in Empire he can alter the deal anytime he wants and it will not be in your favor.

puter, my BCBS premium is going down 12% and the colonoscopy I'm going to have next year will not be subject to my 2500 deductible (as it would have been under my Blue Network plan). That is MY reality. I like paying less and getting more.
My youngest son works for the Town of Farragut so he is unaffected. My oldest son (26) has an individual BCBS plan that will increase 30% (140mo to 180mo). He doesn't like the increase but he is getting more coverage than he had...he is paying more and getting more.
I'm betting your group health coverage has seen huge rate increases premium-wise for years, while your coverage slipped. Paid (much) more, and got less with higher deductibles and out-of-pocket. Do you think that trend was magically going to turn itself around? You seriously want to stay the course with our broken healthcare distribution system? Would you be okay with providing national defense to 85% of the country - or primary education?
But who am I arguing with. Somebody who thinks SS is an evil ponzi scheme.

I'm sure you like to pay less and get more. So does Bill Maher and Michael Moore. All three of you are old men now and you all have real health care needs and none of you are responsible enough to have saved in your working years to prepare for this (or if you have saved enough, you aren't willing to spend what you've saved if you can just vote in government to give you what you feel you are entitled.) The ACA helps people like you by stealing from my children (forcing them to pay more for health coverage) to make you (you blood sucking tick) "whole."
Puter does not care what
your situation is like for your health insurance, NOR does he care what your
son's health insurance situation is working for city government. Puter cares about the entire country's situation, NOT individual situations. It doesn't surprise me that you can't get this, liberals can't argue facts or logic. All they can do is reframe situations by creating sob stories to try and control the narrative.
Social Security is a ponzi scheme. Read up on the wiki describing that most useless of immigrants (like so many immigrants who come here to our country to scam people and break the law), Charles Ponzi. Do you even know what a ponzi scheme is? I doubt it. I doubt you could ever properly describe what a ponzi scheme is on this site for fear
that I will catch you in a logic trap and make you accountable for KNOWING (all along) that Social Security is a ponzi scheme. Whether or not that makes Social Security EVIL or not (your word) depends on who is gaming the system and who is getting reamed in the ass.

The White House has issued a clarification. When the president said if you like your insurance plan you can keep it, what he meant was you can keep it if he likes it.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans who are getting policy cancellation notices this month can't be as surprised as they pretend to be. President Obama made it clear at his 2010 health care summit what he thought of their taste in insurance.
"It's the equivalent of Acme Insurance that I had for my car. . . . It's basically not health insurance," he explained. "It's house insurance. . . .
"I'm buying that to protect me from some catastrophic situation; otherwise, I'm just paying out of pocket. I don't go to the doctor. I don't get preventive care. There are a whole bunch of things I just do without. But if I get hit by a truck, maybe I don't go bankrupt."
Notice his disdain for those who buy high-deductible policies to protect themselves only from unexpected and unmanageable health-care costs. They are too cheap or too dumb to reach into their own pockets for necessary care that isn't covered by their policy or triggers the deductible.
These customers might like their plan. Their plan might even be the best cure, as many experts believe, for what ails our health-care system, namely too much incentive for Americans to overconsume health care. But Mr. Obama doesn't like their plans so they can't keep them.
Democrats at least are consistent. Back in 1993, during the fight over HillaryCare, Mrs. Clinton explained Democratic reasoning to then-House GOP Leader Denny Hastert. If Americans are allowed too much discretion over how they spend their health-care dollars, Mrs. Clinton said, "We just think people will be too focused on saving money and they won't get the care for their children and themselves that they need . . .
"The money has to go to the federal government because the federal government will spend that money better."
Not only was it deliberate ObamaCare policy to make sure plans millions of Americans like would no longer be available, forcing them to buy more coverage than they want or need. NBC reports that the White House—as Mr. Obama was promising Americans they could keep their current plans—was estimating at least seven million people would not be allowed to keep their current plans.
In drafting rules to put ObamaCare into effect, the Health and Human Services department under Kathleen Sebelius tightened the grandfathering eligibility to make sure even more people would be forced to switch to the excessively costly policies that Mr. Obama wants them to buy. Mr. Obama says he cares about your incentive to get preventive care or tests that you may not get if they don't appear to involve a free lunch.
But the truth is, he wants you to pay for coverage you'll never use (mental-health services, cancer wigs, fertility treatments, Viagra) so the money can be spent on somebody else.
A nod goes to the Los Angeles Times, whose coverage of the inequities of ObamaCare has been exemplary. On Monday, it set the political world afire with a story about thousands of Californians losing coverage. "This is when the actual sticker shock comes into play for people," UCLA health-care researcher Gerald Kominski told the paper. "There are winners and losers under the Affordable Care Act."
The press stinks at covering abstractions, which the health-care debate was until a law was enacted and put into effect. With real-world results now to unpack and examine, NBC News gave airtime to a 62-year-old North Carolina man whose monthly premium just jumped $800: "I'm sitting here looking at this, thinking we ought to just pay the fine and just get insurance when we're sick. Everybody's worried about whether the website works or not, but that's fixable. That's just the tip of the iceberg. This stuff isn't fixable."
The Affordable Care Act was never going to make care more affordable, except for those receiving a big subsidy at the expense of taxpayers or other insurance buyers. A non-listening press might have known better if it had paid attention in the most admirable moment of John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign, when the candidate disabused a generation of liberal reporters by saying that covering the uninsured might be desirable for other reasons, but health-care costs would be driven out of sight once the government began subsidizing another large group of Americans to overconsume.
ObamaCare probably won't succeed in covering even a majority of the uninsured. It will succeed, though, in forcing millions of Americans to buy more expensive insurance than they need or want, because that's the insurance Mr. Obama likes and will let them keep.

Fun facts about the state of the American healthcare delivery system pre- October/2013:
Census Bureau records show that 48.6 million Americans were uninsured in 2011.
As of 2012, 75 million people reported problems paying their medical bills or were paying off medical debt, up from 73 million in 2010 and 58 million in 2005. (source: Commonwealth Fund 2013)
A 2005 Harvard study found that medical problems contributed to half of all personal bankruptcies filed in the U.S. A majority of the filers had medical insurance.
U.S. hospitals provided $41.1 billion in incompensated care in 2011, representing 5.9 percent of annual hospital expenses. (source: American Hospital Association)
In 2010, 41 percent of adults (ages 19-64) reported that they had medical debt or trouble paying medical bills, and 22 percent had been contacted by a collection agency for unpaid medical bills. (source: The Commonwealth Fund Biennial Health Insurance Survey 2012)
In 2012 annual premiums for families covered by employer-sponsored health insurance were $15,745. Premiums have risen 97 percent since 2002, whereas wages increased only 4.7%. (source: HRET September 2012)
Annual out-of-pocket responsibility for families covered by employer-sponsored health insurance in 2012 was $4,316. (source HRET September 2012)

Ah, brings up another question that libs will never answer....
How many of this total are uninsured as a matter of personal choice?

“First of all, if you’ve got health insurance, you like your doctors, you like your plan, you can keep your doctor, you can keep your plan. Nobody is talking about taking that away from you.”
