Guns don't kill people . . .

SPARKS, Nev. — A student at a Nevada middle school opened fire on campus, killing a staff member who was trying to protect other children, police said Monday.

NRA response: "If ALL of the 12-year olds had been armed, the good kids could've taken down the bad one!"
During a press conference later, O'Mara was asked if he had any advice for Zimmerman, and he answered, "Pay me."

The NRA didn't sat that. Why do you lie. If the teacher (ex-military) had been armed maybe he could have stopped the little felon.

always amazes me when you add only 147K new jobs how the hell the rate can fall

you telling me that less then 147K people in the US retired/got fired/quit/laid off etc etc.

that 147 k jobs created exceeds how many jobs were given up

what a joke

Says there 'lowest unemployment numbers since November 2008' - good find, sardis.

So oprama practically doubled the stock market and now his jobs numbers are better than what's-his-name. We're out of Afghanistan next year so we won't be at war. And (eventually) 40 million people will have health insurance who didn't have it before.

Oh - and Hillary is warming up in the pen.

things are looking UP! UP! UP!

I would vote for the PAH over Cruz. Now, if it's Christie vs PAH?

The number of Americans who are 16 years or older and who have decided not to participate in the nation's labor force has climbed to a record 90,609,000 in September, according to data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The BLS counts a person as participating in the labor force if they are 16 years or older and either have a job or have actively sought a job in the last four weeks. A person is not participating in the labor force if they are 16 or older and have not sought a job in the last four weeks.

In from July to August, according to BLS, Americans not participating in the labor force climbed from 89,957,000 to 90,473,000, pushing past 90,000,000 for the first time, with a one month increase of 516,000.

In September, it climbed again to 90,609,000, an increase of 136,000 during the month.

In January 2009, when President Barack Obama took office, there were 80,507,000 Americans not in the labor force. Thus, the number of Americans not in the labor force has increased by 10,102,000 during Obama's presidency.

Query: the way they described that, it would include people retiring. Isn't there an expectation that the number of people retiring over the next 20 years will net increase as the Baby Boomers (one of the biggest generations ever) retires??

not that the principle may not be true. But if they don't account for Baby Boomers, then that number really has no meaning

People leave the workforce for several reasons, retiring being one....whether it's retire, death, disability or just giving up(remember DINK?). Some jobs are replaced w/new hires but not all (some go out of business)and the proportion of "replacement" vs "hiring" has gone down steadily which is causing the unemployment % to go down, the Pyrrhic victory so touted by the likes of tick around here.
