To me, it would be more than just economics. I didn't realize how much democracy you give up by being an EU member.

I"m listening to Christiane Amanpour on CNN at 4:30am about Brexit talking to the London Mayor Khan.

she has latched on to Islamaphobia as the word she says every 5 minutes.

Congrats to the Brits. Didn't think they had it in them.

Says alot about the accuracy of polling.

I think this helps Trump. Especially when Obama told Britain they'd be in the back of the queue in trade with the U.S. if they left the EU.

Western Europe is feeling more emboldened in addressing immigration and migration as threats to their security /economy

Well, I miscalled that vote.

The Brits will realize soon enough that they are cutting off their nose to spite their face. The same thing happened when the Euros overdid it on austerity and lagged behind the US in growth coming out of 2008.

Oh well, the sell-off today could offer some nice opportunities to buy on a low.

Speaking of opportunities to buy low, today is options expiration on July commodities. July corn had been trading in the $4.25 range for awhile and actually closed at $4.37 last Friday, so with a week to go until expiration and no sign that corn was going to take any kind of drastic nosedive, the July $4 puts were trading as low as 0.0125 (an eight of a cent) in the first hour of trading this past Monday. Suffice it to say you could've bought all you wanted for 0.025 (a quarter of a cent). Well, they fell off 15 cents on Monday and then another 25 cents on Tuesday, slightly less (but still down) on Wednesday and Thursday, and now with the Great Britain/EU shit going on, they're down another 12 cents today at 3.75. Those $4 puts are now worth 25 cents which is a 10,000% return in under a week. If you had bought any at 0.0125, that would be a 20,000% gain in 5 days. People railed on Hillary for making $100K in cattle futures on a $1000 investment, but that's exactly what you would've gotten at minimum if you'd invested $1000 in $4 July puts on Monday. And it could spike down further when the market opens...
