College football is ruined, and I think it’s irreparable

who is "they?" As far as I know, every NIL operates entirely independent of each other. They are separate entities that have ZERO to do with the universities that the student athletes they are "sponsoring" are affiliated. That is by design, so they can bribe the players to play only for the schools they give a damn, and the federal government can fuck right off with their Title-IX restrictions and equalization legislation.

Each NIL could say to the players they are "sponsoring", play in the bullshit bowl, or no money. And if the kid is a 3-star or whatever, he would agree to that. But if he is a 5-star, he'll be like....

"Listen you old millionaire fuck, I am 17 and I got nine other NILs from 9 other schools that offered who don't tell me what to do so, I'll pass on your blackmail"

and that might be it.

Turning it into the wild west from the start was a bad move.

I think they are shooting themselves in the foot (the players)

why would I want to give $100K to an NIL slush fund if I'm an FSU guy, just to see the kid sit out in a bowl game and FSU loses by the biggest margin in bowl history?

You wouldn't. But that is because you give a damn about a non playoff Orange Bowl. The non playoff Orange Bowl is no longer the point, nor is it of any concern to donating members of the NIL.

If you had $100K to give the F$U NIL, you are not angry with the players who sat out a now meaningless bowl game. You are angry with the CFP selection committee for leaving you out of the playoffs. That is not the player's fault that you donated to, you wouldn't blame them. The only reason why we have NILs is because we have now have a 12 team playoff.

There should be a MNF game today. Unacceptable.

Eagles are flailing. Shouldn’t have given Hurts all that money. He’s not that good. Not as bad as Daniel Jones but not too far off either.

Lucky. The Jags are a fucking joke! Naw. Congrats. Our divison is the toughest around. Finishing last with a winning record is fucking weird. Hasn't happened since 35. And we lost draft spots as well. Thus sums up our 2023 season.

Go Browns and Texans. New and upcoming AFC teams in, and a few of the old ones we thought were good get exposed as frauds.
