Of course WLW is playing this up as an international incident.

Can't throw all of the blame at LaRussa for the snubs of Cueto & Phillips. Did they deserve it? Yep. They both should be there and its a joke that they aren't but...Neither the fans nor the players voted them to the team. LaRussa only had about 5-7 choices and he did choose Bruce. But yes when it came down to the final 5, I think last years ass kicking by Phillips & Cueto played a part in his decision.

Phillips doesn't deserve it this year and Cueto is scheduled to pitch the Sunday before the break and wouldn't be available to pitch in the game.

And gottdamn, bases loaded no outs and can't get a stinkin' run in. This team infuriates me, because it should be running away with the division with all the health problems the whiny little birds are having.

I think they both deserve it. Cueto could always opt out but he definitely deserved to be named.

I do agree that Cueto deserved it, but I don't think Phillips did. He just hasn't done enough at the plate this season.

So defense doesn't count when it comes to being an All-Star? He's the best defensive 2B in the game. He deserves it more than Bruce.

Defense counts, but for every great play he's made in the field, he's grounded into a rally-killing double play.

Have any stats to back that up? Not being a dick but I think that's a stretch. He's batting in a spot he's not comfortable with for the purpose of the team. And although he's not a cleanup hitter he's hanging in there. He deserves it more than Bruce

Obviously, there's some exaggeration there Rat, but he is leading the team with 14 GIDP. Which is a lot. And if you figure one outstanding play a week on defense, we're at about 14 weeks in so, that's about a 1-to-1 ratio. Also the hamstring issues hampered his play through April.

I love BP, and wouldn't trade him for any other 2nd baseman in the NL, but he's having a so-so season by his standards, IMO, so I don't have a huge bitch with him being left off the All-Star roster.

Chipper had his third 5 hit game last night. Not bad for his swan song season.

I think you're going just a bit overboard but enjoy it while it lasts.
