Shame on Maryland.

So much for the praise I gave FSU's defense. They look worst than Auburn's right now.

Congrats to Temple. That program nearly folded several years ago.

For serial though. Football only conferences. Get that shit done. Have your retarded 16 team conferences but don't drag your soccer team into that retarded travel. We can even resurrect some old conferences for the non-football leagues. Welcome back SWC and Metro!

aggy second half defense = terrible. Justin Blackmon's head-up-his-ass moment: worse. That said, this has been aggy's legacy of misery for a while now.
Ya gotta win this one at home.

Seems strange seeing fat Charlie Weis on the sidelines for Florida in Lexington.

Aren't there some Big East teams that are basketball-only paricipants? I thought it used to be that way...for some reason I thought G'town was that way.

Sure, See attached list. Several schools do not field football. ND is in the Big East in all sports but football. Georgetown plays football on a lower level. It's a miss mash of a conference that was doomed to fall apart eventually.

I'm beginning to think that Crotch Rot was right about Joker Phillips. Kentucky football made some real progress under Rich Brooks, now it starting to look like the bad old days are back. Now with SEC getting even stronger, Kentucky is just going to be shoved further to the bottom.

Indeed. The conference started for basketball purposes. Eventually added football. But what I propose is the opposite. Everyone (for whatever retarded reason) seems to think that there must be four 16 team super-conferences for football. Fine. football makes money and the NCAA hasn't been able to impose a tournament on the big boys. So the superconferences can monopolize the D1 football caaaaaiiiish. But it doesn't make sense financially to have those 16 team conferences for the other sports. Too much money for travel for wrestling and volleyball and what not. They don't even really make sense for basketball. With 66 teams in the tourney and the NCAA firmly in charge, the superconference idea wouldn't seem to really be able to bring extra cash (get 6 of your 16 teams in, that's essentially a 3/8 share to all the members, get 4 of your 10 teams in and that's a 2/5 share... more cash per team.)
There is plenty of precedence for this sort of arrangement. The hockey conferences are completely separate from any other sport.
Bring back a version of the SWC for the Texas schools that don't want to fly to Pullman to play field hockey.

I think Kentucky took a giant step in the Mike Leach coaching sweepstakes.
Anyone would have looked good in a scrub situation but the fact that our backup qb got in the Florida game and got significant minutes with solid play just adds to the turmoil in Lexington now.

On a different front... the true scholar athlete field that is Collegiate Club Football.
Whatever pothead slacker is in charge of Wright State's club football website finally updated the results. Currently the mighty Raiders are 2-0 with a Lightning Cancellation at WVU-Tech, a 20pt win at Ohio State-Newark, another cancellation at Coppin State, and today a 12-7 victory over U of M-Flint in their first ever home game actually played at Wright State. Next up, CMAC's mighty Iowa Wesleyan.
