Yeah, I still don't think the media understands the main issue today. It's not transgender, its not gay marriage, it's not race, its not abortion rights, its not immigration (directly). It's poor and rich and its getting worse. People are tired of the crap sandwiches given by both parties over the years while their plight has gotten worse. The plight of most of the rest of the world has improved because we basically have exported our middle class wealth overseas through trade deals.

Globalization and technology have basically trashed the old economic theories of Trickle Down and Keynesian economics. They made sense back in the FDR and Reagan years, but are outdated and Wall Street wonks and Paul Krugmans should just shut up because they fall back on has-been philosophies. Someone needs to come up with a new way. In the meantime, you can't fault the American people for wanting to retract some globalization which is a common theme amongst Sanders and Trump supporters.

I think its pretty simple

free trade and immigration increases pressure on keeping wages low - to a large degree

create fair trade policies that limit access to our markets (not tarrifs - just outright no access unless the trade is reciprocal ) while stopping the flood into the country with cheap labor and $15 minimum wage won't be an issue. Entry level manufacturing jobs won't be an issue - and the industries that feed into that will grow as well.

The Muslim issue is a secrurity/culture issue.There are more muslims in Europe now than Christians. That isn't going to end well.

There are just so many Americans that see no path to the American dream any more its created two factions- one faction hates the government for not doing anything to keep it alive and the other looks to the government to balance it out by creating social programs funded by taxes those who have achieved it.

And neither of them have any intention of voting for some old white fuck face who is up there talking about trickle down economics, tax breaks for the wealthy and legalization of their morality.

I think Trump has a real chance at attracting a lot of middle and lower class Democrats than we think...
