So now I've gone from being offensive to defensive. I can't keep it straight anymore. Oh well, they say the best defense is a good offense. Or something like that...

Both are correct: You're obviously defensive about your offensive post.

No political agenda necessary. Send these boys away for a minimum of 20 years each in some reform school and then adult prison with felons. All three will spend the next 20 years being reamed in the ass by any number of inmates looking for young boys with tight assholes. These boys will think they are Hell. Justice is served.
20 years? How about the victims family get to beat them to death with a bat?
I don't have a problem with that. Problem is, our justice system does.

My way WILL happen and is within the bounds of justice. They will be sodomized repeatedly for 20 years (each of them) so sixty combined years of life lost while being humiliated and viciously raped over-and-over, that is justice. Will it bring the victim back, no. But we can't bring him back no matter what we do.

Your glee at this prospect is palpable. Not out of any sense of justice (you have none), but b/c you get horny thinking about prison rape...

That was actually just a rhetorical flourish to add color to my pique. I can't say that I really know you, gule. I have seen you occasionally (SEC boards?), but a quick search in here shows the last time you posted (besides a drive by "Obama sucks" about 6 months ago) was more than 2 years ago to say something about your daughter fixin to go to Villanova. So no, I can't honestly say I don't like you, but I suppose my post would've meant essentially the same if I'd said "by a poster who I barely recall" or some such. You've only posted a total of 196 times in all these forums combined since this place got started..

Anyway, I hope your daughter is doing well at Nova. And, in keeping with the first part of this post, let me ask you the question that is really closest to my (and I'm sure pretty much everybody else's) heart: Is she hot?

Free IDs are a small price to pay if this is an issue, but I don't know how big a problem it is nationally. I do know someone personally who places votes for all his non-voting relatives - which gives him 4-5 votes, and I know of someone on this board who votes for his mother.

I hate that politics is a part of the discussion. But there are people who look at this as a way to help their candidate - like some of the people who want to make it harder for overseas military to vote.
It's been a while since I applied to college...don't you usually have to provide some form of identification at some point in the admissions process? Like a SS card?

I suppose one could argue that a college ID can be faked, but I'm not sure why a fake hunting license would be any more difficult.

Voter fraud is a much bigger deal in the minds of some people than what the reality is. I'm trying to find the number of civil complaints about coting rights filed every year...best I could find was this

http://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/crcusdc06.pdf

On page three there's a chart showing that there are about 150-200 cases per year filed in federal courts alleging voting rights discrimination. I can't say how many were found for the plaintiff but that's significantly more instances than the actual documented cases of voter fraud people can't point to.

Anyways, forcing people to purchase some sort of "voting card" should be and ought to be illegal under the 24th amendment. It is just a poll tax by another name.

I don't think you have to provide a SS card unless getting federal aid or loans. Could be wrong. My neighbor is Asian and has a BA and MD from an American university and didn't become a US citizen until his visa ran out well after graduation.

For that matter, you can get a hunting license as a non-US citizen, too, but most states denote the country of citizenship on the license itself for the fur'ners.

I have no idea if its a big problem or not. It probably isn't as big as most pro IDers think it is, but it's also most likely underreported. So, my gut is, that it's somewhere in the middle. Like I've said, I personally (anecdotally) know of one and I didn't report him. Should have, I suppose.

A free government-issued ID is a solution. After all, having an official -no cost- ID is a good thing and could potentially benefit the poor in other areas of life.

Most if not all states DMV will issue a free picture ID for voting. If an 83 year old dad is too sorry to go get a free ID or his worthless piece of shit son won't help him get it, maybe he shouldn't be voting anyway. My god people, just have the President declare it not a tax. Not like that's not been done before. I can't believe this is even an argument.

Exactly. Because the courts stopped it, for example, in Pennsylvania before several hundred thousands were disenfranchised. But the rules you are proposing if implemented will take off 100's of thousands. The statement stands.
