Also kevi, when is the last time that the only undefeated team in major college football was ranked # 4? Wonder why.

Looks like all football fans except FSU alum think like I do. Every FSU game this season should be a forfeit. At least the playoff voters seem to think so.

No. The CFB committee wants Bama and FSU in NO for ratings. They want the shitbird sandwich of game between Oregon and the other selected quasi deserving team to be palatable for the shitty Rose Bowl -- and I am sure if Barrett had not been injured that team would have been the Suckeyes.

Jesus you're dense. And old. But mostly dense.
HE HAS NOT BEEN CHARGED WITH A CRIME, SO WHY IN HELL WOULD THE "VICTIM" BE DECIDING WHEN IT WOULD BE TRIED?
Newsflash - there is NO TRIAL IF THERE ARE NO CHARGES.
As far as the school hearing, there is no "felony" involved - felony is a legal term, and again he has not been legally charged with a crime in this matter. FSU tried to contact the "victim" multiple times after the investigation began to have a Code of Conduct hearing but she refused to cooperate until a few weeks ago. That's why it was held this week and not 8-20 months ago.

How do you figure? Nothing in the sexual assault allegations point to an NCAA violation. So why should there be a forfeiture of games again? The only thing the NCAA *could* hang its hat on is something similar to the Penn State ordeal, if it were determined that FSU or its athletic department did something to hinder criminal investigations. To my knowledge that has never been an accusation by anyone (there are accusations by some that the Tallahassee Police Department did an improper investigation, and there's probably some validity to that - and it would have likely led to more hard evidence that she has lied about a lot of aspects of that night).
The playoff voters are putting FSU 4th because (a) with an undefeated P5 record, they pretty much MUST include FSU or the ACC and Big 10 would know they have no chance in this system and would likely sue, and (b) FSU has not looked particularly strong throughout the season - Bama, OU, and TCU have been better in the committee's "eye test". There's some validity to this, just as some FSU fans felt like AU skated through the season last year looking very vulnerable and lucky and didn't deserve to grace the same field as the Noles.

I stand by my belief that they want I-10 packed with Noles and Bammers headed down to Bourbon and Canal Streets. Let the also-ran's have their Pasadena pillow fight. The victor of the Sugar Bowl will have their coronation the following week when they lay the smack down on the Rose Bowl winner in Dallas. Keep in mind, only TCU/Baylor will have a cheap trip to the final. The powers that be want as many Noles/Bammers as possible to be able to afford both games so that the first Final is not only a sell out, the week leading up to it is a full on Super Bowl type event.

Oh I agree with you on the current seeding. I don't think that was the reason from the beginning when FSU started #2, but I do believe that's why they dropped us from #3 to #4 last week.
I heard Finebaum (the penis with ears) on Sirius this morning saying this will be the first week he's rooted for FSU...he thinks Bama will wipe the floor with the Noles and it'll shut NoleFan the hell up. I really want to play Bama as well (even if we lose, just think it would be a fantastic atmosphere) but it would be even more epic if Bama loses this weekend and Finebaum has to endure the playoffs without an SEC team. He'd probably call for a restructure to 8 teams immediately to ensure 2 SEC teams would always make it.

Congrats on the hire for head coach. McElwain looks like the real deal.
The big question is can he get a quality staff? We'll see.

He has actually defended FSU this past week.
But I can't imagine Paul Finebaum influencing who I root for.

Finebaum has defended FSU because he wants them to be Bama's first sacrificial lamb. We'll see in a few hours if he gets his wish.

I don't think so. I truly believe that he thinks that FSU dropping was wrong. He said something like "The Committee is going to watch FSU continue to win and drop them out of the top 10? It's ridiculous."
Does he like Bama? Nope. Finebaum doesn't even really like his alma mater, Tennessee. No, PF likes PF and he knows that his popularity is tied to the SEC doing well since most of his callers and listeners are SEC people.
That said, I cannot imagine wanting to see FSU lose because Kanell is a bona fide idiot. Or to see Ohio State lose because Joey Galloway is arrogant.
As always, your mileage may vary.

whew! UF just escaped the indignity of playing in the Weedwacker Bowl. For a while it looked like Muschamp's work would do something even Zook and Dickey didn't achieve. Not that playing in the Rusty Gray Lady is much better but we'll take it. Most of the 13 bowls involving SEC teams look pretty evenly matched.
