And another former Alabama football coach, Mike Dubose.

And former Alabama basketball coach Wimp Sanderson.

Mike Price was a gem. They never should have fired him as their football coach. He would have made Saben look like Chuck Knox.

Mike Price was a better Alabama head football coach than Saban. Mike Price is the only head coach to go his entire career at Alabama undefeated. Not even the Bear accomplished that.

Price was 0-1 at Alabama...somebody had to lose the A-Day game.

Otherwise, thank goodness for Dr. Witt having real stones and ending contract negotiations before Price was hired.

How could he be 0-1 and coached the A-Day game and never been coach? I'm confused....

If Mike Price was never the coach at Alabama, I wonder why Sports Illustrated said "Price was introduced Wednesday as the Crimson Tide's new football coach. He agreed to a seven-year contract..."

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/footba ... ounced_ap/

The NYT said that Alabama fired Mike Price "who had just been hired":

http://topics.nytimes.com/topics/refere ... index.html

USAToday said "Mike Price only lasted 4 months as Alabama's football coach."

There is only one possible explanation for all these news sources claiming that Mike Price was the coach at Alabama:

9:1

That is all.

Y'all really haven't been paying attention have you... It goes back to AA's excellent point that he never coached a game, unless you count A-Day. That's not even a game. It's a scrimmage.

The university announced him as the head coach with great fanfare -- and subsequently fired him from the same position. There is no question that the school, as the employer of record, considered him to be the head coach for several months. Now, then...if it is your contention is that the university is an invalid institution made up of confused, backward, tree-murdering redneck yokels, whose pronouncements can be so easily dismissed...

...well, then you might have a point.

AA is definitely holed up in a cave with his Welsh cousins if he hasn't responded to any of this yet.

Great photoshop job, aTm. The casual observer would swear it was real.

The casual observer, but not a trained eye.

I wish he'd actually coached a season. He couldn't have been worse than Mike Shula, and bad decisions make good stories.

I liked Shula. He was the architect of the immortal "Honk If You Sacked Brody" Iron Bowl.

Shula wasn't as great a Bama coach as Bill Curry (peace be upon him) was, but he was pretty close.

He even wanted to stand by the O-line coach and Dave Radar. Thank goodness Shula was an idiot.
