Just for future reference, there are really two different things when it comes to buttons. There are your personal permissions which specify what you can do (whether or not you are allowed to create threads, use all the code functions including flash, etc, whether you are allowed to edit and delte your own posts or not.

Then there are moderator permissions which specify what you can do to other peoples posts. Whether you are allowed to approve or disapprove posts by new users, whether you are allowed to delate or edit others posts, etc.

I have given you full access to The SOmething Forum. So you should be able to use the wide range pf personal permissions, including create threads, but you are not a moderator there so you will not be able disapprove or approve posts from the bots, or delete/edit someone elses posts like the listed mods.

I never edit anyone's posts...ever (well, I deleted some of Optimus Prime's and a few of Wiz's once).

Anyway, there is no need for those permissions now, aTm. Your reticence and tacit denial has given me pause to reconsider my offer - which helped me avoid the grievous error I was doing my best to make.

Please let me know if you come across anything funny on the board. Specifically placeholder tokens for links that look like this

{ FIELD NAME }

where "Field name" is just a generic term of what the link should probably say. These are probably relics from a recent board update, and I will need to go back and fix them as I become aware they exist.

Came accross it on the Florida board, but it seems to have rectified.

I saw something funny once but on reflection, I think I just misread it.

I don't know if it's an isolated event or the addition of the blog, but the site has been much slower today.

Extremely slow. Also, I keep getting redirected to a new address every time I click Home.

I have your answer. Our site is being throttled back by our webhost to the tune of about 7 hours of doowntime over the past 24 hour period. I have no idea what it normally is because I only have the past day chart. I checked our usage though, and traffic has been high over the past few days compared to the historical norms.

Basically, too many people are browsing the site and those bitches at bluehost are choking us off to keep our bandwidth usage down.

I will be looking for alternative hosting when we get a chance to renew.

Basically the way I understand this is that, for that 10 hours ago bar, it choked us off 3077 seconds out of 3600 in the hour, so basically the average speed of the site over that hour was 15% of peak, and we're basically running only about 33-50% of the speed we should be running during the daytime hours.

Karen,

Home now directs you to the homepage. "Forums" is what you want to click on to go to what the old page was (the page that shows the forums list).

You may also want to change any bookmarks that took you to "http://goatpen.net" to "http://goatpen.net/forums" if you want them to take you directly to the forum top page.

aTm,

I've written a piece for the blog. Actually, I made my own blog and e-mailed the link to Anthony Bourdain, and he commented (I think) on it. But since I don't plan, at present, to regularly update it, maybe we can use it here. Copy pasta everything if you wish.

Heh, is that really yours? You should have access to make posts on our blog yourself if you want.

Of course it's mine.

I can't be troubled with writing the copy AND doing the scut work. Get someone on it. DSL is a bit of a lackey. Tell him to do it.
